HomeMy WebLinkAboutCAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS - 11/07/2000 - Capital Improvement Committee November 7, 2000 3:30 pm Present: Patton Feichter, Chair Bart Dill,Member James Petri, Member Staff: Assistant Village Manager Director of Public Works Jerry Starn, Clark-Dietz Construction Manager Tour ofBiesterfield Fire Station Addition Jerry Starn noted that work continues on the addition to the Beisterfield Fire Station. The project is slightly behind schedule due to a backlog on steel I-beams; however, all of the material is now on-site to complete the job. The anticipated completion date of the Biesterfield Fire Station addition is December 15. Landscaping will be installed this week along with the interior masonry walls. Next week, the roof will be completed and the windows will be installed, effectively sealing the building from the environment. After that, all of the interior trades are scheduled to complete their portions of the project. Starn noted that the Fire Station addition is number 1 priority as firefighters are working from a temporary trailer. Stam invited the Committee to view the Fire Station after Thanksgiving when he anticipated that a majority of the interior improvements will be completed. Tour of 666 Landmeier Public Works Garage Remodeling Jerry Stam noted that work continues on this 2-phase project. Phase 1 work includes the remodeling of the former Fire Station along with landscaping and exterior enhancements to the building. The mason and landscaper are scheduled to work on their portion of the phase 1 site next week, after completing work at the Biesterfield Fire Station. The Phase 1 project is also slightly behind schedule due to delivery of steel. However, the anticipated to be completed is before January 1. Following Phase 1 work, Phase 2 work will begin. Phase 2 work includes remodeling of the existing Public Works office areas to be compatible with the Phase 1 construction. This work is scheduled for completion in late April.
