SEWER REPAIR POLICY
The Committee reviewed a memo from the Assistant Village Manager and Director of
Public Works dated October 5, 2001.
After further discussion, the consensus of the Committee was as follows:
- Request that staff prepare cost estimates for the Village to repair or replace
private lateral sanitary lines that exist under the street (from curb to curb);
- To have staff draft a policy for the Committee to review concerning repairs to
lateral sewer lines under the street; and,
- As part of the policy, have the Village require the installation of clean-outs by
the homeowner.
The Capital Improvements Committee will convene at a future date to examine the cost
data and determine a policy recommendation to the Village Board.
The meeting adjourned at 9:30 pm.
