Rummel, Assistant Village Manager Thomas J. Cech, Director of Public Works Repair of Street following Sanitary Sewer Line Repair The Committee reviewed the draft policy dated November 18, 2002 regarding the repair of streets following the repair of sanitary sewer lines. The consensus of the Committee was to approve the policy with one change to include curbs and gutter in the portion to be repaired by the Village under the policy. Tree Trimming Prices Extension Trustee Czarnik inquired as to whether tree-trimming prices obtained by the Village's contractor could be extended to private homeowners. Staff advised that private trees may not be accessible from the street, so the contractor could not use their high lift equipment. That ability would impact pricing, as would the need to protect private property areas from falling limbs. Private property needs to be reviewed and priced individually by the contractor. Staff will investigate whether tree-trimming prices can be extended to private property owners with no involvement from the Village other than notification of who the low bidder was for tree trimming services. Use of Non-Permanent Marking Paint by Utility Locators The consensus of the Committee was to request that the NWMC look at developing regulations to require utility locating services(JULIE) to use paints that fade within a month or so, or require the contractor to remove the paint. Staff will develop a letter to the NWMC. The meeting adjourned at 11 am. c: Mayor &Board of Trustees, Village Manager, Assistant Village Manager, Assistant to the Village Manager, Public Works Director, Village Clerk.
