Mayor Johnson presented information to the Commission regarding the
status of the O Hare Airport Expansion and the Peotone Airport site.
The status of ongoing ICRC projects was discussed. The Lively
Boulevard and Higgins Road Improvement is underway. Traffic signals have been
relocated and roadway work is scheduled to begin March 26, 2001. Howard Street
construction will also start at this time. Fire hydrant relocations on Howard Street will be
started next week. The Spring 2001 Local Lighting Improvements are scheduled for an
April 2001 contract letting.
The Commission reviewed alternative sign designs for future construction
projects. The signs will identify the projects as ICRC improvements.
The water tank site at Busse Road and Touhy Avenue was discussed.
Improvements to the site will be discussed at the next meeting.
The Commission agreed to cancel the April meeting. The next meeting is
scheduled for May 3, 2001.
