The Commission discussed the transportation elements of the ICRC program. Projects completed to date have significantly reduced traffic congestion within the Business Park. Several key traffic congestion improvements remaining in the program include the Busse Road/Oakton Street/Higgins Road intersection, and the Elmhurst Road interchange. The inclusion of additional transportation improvements to ease traffic congestion for Business Park users not originally identified in the Master Plan was discussed. The Commission concurred with evaluating the need for arterial street improvements, which would benefit the Business Park. In addition, transit improvements should be broadened to provide additional bus shelters. The identification of sites for additional shelters will be coordinated with PACE. The intersection of Nicholas Boulevard and Touhy Avenue will be evaluated for a bus shelter. Page 3 The Commission was updated on the marketing program. The Shop Elk Grove directory is currently being updated. The new directory will be mailed to all residents within the Village. The next scheduled meeting of the Commission is January 6, 2005.
