HomeMy WebLinkAboutPOLICE PENSION - 10/09/1973 - POLICE PENSION FUND REGULAR QUARTERLY MEETING - TUESDAY, 9 OCTOBER 1973 The meeting commenced at 7 :04 P.M. at the Elk Grove Village Police Department. In attendance were President Watson, Secretary Losch, Asst.-Secretary Farley and Treasurer Coney . Vice-President Canary was absent. Coney submitted treasurers report, copy attached. Farley made note of the small balance remaining in the First Federal Savings Account and following discussion, Farley moved to transfer the balance ($156 .54) from the First Federal Savings account to the Bell Federal Savings account, thereby closing out this account, seconded by Losch . Motion carried. Losch made reference to the minutes of 10 July 1973, where it was reported that Russell Marinec had submitted a letter of resignation, effective 31 July 1973 . This is incorrect due to Russell Marinec changing his mind and he indicated by letter on 18 July 1973 that he had withdrawn his resigna- tion and that it was accepted by the Chief of Police and the Police and Fire Commission. Copies of this correspondence are in Russell Marinec' s file. Losch further reported that James Walwer resigned effective 10 August 1973, and requested refund of contributions ($2 ,464 . 77) by letter dated 27 July 1973. Also Raymond Marinec resigned effective 7 October 1973 and requested refund of contributions ($7 ,922 . 70) by letter dated 24 September 1973. This action acknowledged by Board and authorizing the Treasurer to refund Officers contributions accordingly. There followed di-scussion reference Officer William Ulke ' s desire to participate in the Police Pension Fund. The con- sensus of opinion of the Board was that Ulke was not eligible to participate in the Fund due to his being beyond the age of 36 upon his appointment to the Police Department. Coney indicated that this matter has been referred to Village Attorney Hofert for consideration about one month ago. Being no fur.ther 'business to discuss , Losch moved to adjourn, seconded by Farley, motion carried, meeting adjourned at 7 : 35 P .M. Submitted by, 00 Lt.
