HomeMy WebLinkAboutPOLICE PENSION - 07/08/1975 - Board of Trustees, Police Pension Fund Minutes of Regular Quarterly Board Meeting, Tuesday July 8, 1975. Meeting held in the office of the Investigative Services Division, Police Department at 901 Wellington Ave. , Elk Grove Village, Ill. Prepared by: Lt. Richard Losch, j Trustee Secretary President Watson called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Roll call Vice-President Canary, Secretary Losch, Assistant Treasurer Coney present - none absent. Minutes of last meeting, Tuesday April 8, 1975 had been distributed 7 ( to all members by mail, the reading of these minutes were dispersed with by acclamation. Secretary Losch reported that an election to the office of Trustee was held on Tuesday April 29, 1975 by the active members and that Canary and Losch were re-elected to Trustee for the period May 13, 1975 to May 10, 1977. Trustee Farley was re-appointed Trustee by the Village Board on June 24, 1975 to serve for the period May 13, 1975 to May 10, 1977. Trustee Watson continues as Trustee until May 11, 1976. Secretary Losch reported that on June 17, 1975 forms were distributed to all active members requesting certain information as to partici- pation in the Fiscal and Beneficiary information and that a follow up was made on July 1, 1975. All forms have been returned except from Lawrence Diamond, Kenneth Krzywicki, Vincent Lopez, Jerome Maculitis, Russell Marinec and Chris Markussen. A personal contact will be made with the above officers in the next week. Election of Board Officers was held and the following slate was proposed: President - Grant Watson Vice-President - Robert Canary Secretary - Richard Losch S Asst. Secretary - David Farley i - 2 - q Canary moved to elect the above slate, Farley seconded. Motion carried by acclamation. Secretary Losch reported no new applicants and no resignations since the last meeting. Mr. George Balasky, Pension Examiner, Illinois Department of Insurance inspected the pension files on June 26, 1975 and was quite pleased with the new filing system for the individual offices - all records are now being kept in acco-press binders for security. Mr. Balasky also suggested that the minutes be kept in permanent binders rather than in acco-press binders as they now are and further suggested a new format for writing the minutes. Fire Department Lt. Marquardt of the Fire Pension Fund joined the meeting and a heated discussion followed regarding the need for a more thorough physical examination for new applicants to the fund. Following much discussion the following course of action was taken. Trustees will contact various agencies to determine what type of physical examination is required of applicants in order than we can set up specific criteria for a physical examination that will insure that only qualified applicants are accepted into the fund. Canary will contact the Chicago Police Department, Farley - Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Watson - Cont. I11. National Bank and the Board of Health, and Losch - Illinois State Police. All trustees will report their findings at the next meeting that has been set for August 12, 1975. 3 9 Being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m. Submitted by Lt.
