POLICE PENSION FUND
Minutes of the regular quarterly meeting held
Tuesday 29 May 1979 . Meeting was held in the
Trustee conference room, Municipal Building,
901 Wellington, Elk Grove Village, Illinois

Since the resignation of trustee Farley effective 30 April
1979 , Elk Grove Village President Charles Zett&k had
appointed Mr. James Fagerson as a temporary replacement.
Mr. Fagerson called the meeting to order at 4 :25pm.
Trustees Diemer and Coney present as well as new trustees
Scharpenter and Krzywicki.
Minutes of the previous meeting held 22 February 79 were
read by Trustee Deimer; motion to accept as read by
Scharpenter and seconded by Fagerson. Carried.
Positions for the board were held on an elective basis
with the results as follows.
President: Fagerson, nominated by Krzywicki,
second by Scharpenter and carried.
Vice President: Scharpenter, nominated by Krzywicki,
second by Fagerson and carried.
• Secretary: Krzywicki, nominated by Scharpenter,
second by Deimer and carried.
Asst. Secretary: Deimer, nominated by Scharpenter,
second by Krzywicki and carried.
Treasurer: Coney; appointed ex-officio.
Trustee Farleys resignation was formally accepted on todays date.
The election of the two new trustees was briefly discussed
and it was noted that of all the votes cast, Trustees
Krzywicki and Scharpenter were the two top vote getters with
21 and 17 votes respectfully. Tally sheets to be included in
the Pension Board files.
Trustee Coney produced several cards for signature from the
Continental Bank and Bell Federal Savings. Trustees signed
these cards and Coney will forward as required.
Bill Carrolls retirement was then briefly discussed. It was
noted that all of the pertinent papers pertaining to his
retirement were now in file. His final letter requesting
pension was received and included in his file.
A letter from Patrolman Robert Glod was read requesting
the return of his pension contributions since he had
recently resigned from the Police Department. Motion by
Krzywicki to reimburse, second by Deimer and carried.
Next followed a discussion by the entire board with
reference to the physical fitness of the prospective
applicants to the pension fund. It was noted that
we should have direct input with the Police and Fire
Commission with respect to this. More to be discussed
at the next meeting.
A discussion then was held with relation to whether or not
a pension fund participant should be required to include
in his file any divorce decree. It was decided unanimously
without going to a vote that those documents will still
be required to be included in the individuals file.
Trustee Fagerson and Trustee Coney advised the board of
$200 ,000 1979 levy to provide money accrued as unfaunde utiFuNotD
liability( copy to Mr. Zettek) . Motion to accept by
Scharpenter, second by Deimer and carried.
No further business to be discussed at this time.
Motion to adjourn the meeting by Deimer, second by
Scharpenter. Meeting adjourned by President Fagerson at
5:25 pm.
