MINUTES
YOUTH COMMISSION MEETING
THURSDAY, AUGUST 14, 1998
4:00 P.M.

Discussion ensued in regards to the $1,500.00 that the Lion's Club donated to the Youth
Commission. It was decided by the members in attendance to hold on to the majority of
the money in order to fund a Teen Coffeehouse Evening that is tentatively going to be
scheduled,in November.
Discussion then continued in regards to the up-coming Camelot Dinner Party which is
scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 1998. The members approved spending $150.00
to purchase a select group of Beanie Babies which could be used as silent auction items.
It was also noted that the Youth Commission will not be helping set up or take down
decorations, etc.
The November Coffeehouse (Teen Center) function was discussed. The Commission is
still very much in favor of working with the Park District to sponsor a November
Coffeehouse Theme with the music supplied by a local band. Ashley and Bryan offered
to check into possible bands.
In regards to the Village Paint-A-Thon which is scheduled for September 26, 1998, the
Commission would definitely like to be involved with this project.
The Commission would also like to be involved in the Make-A-Difference Day
scheduled for October 24, 1998. Possible suggestions and projects in regards to this
function will be discussed at the September 12, 1998 meeting.
The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 1998 8:00 a.m.
The meeting adjourned at 5:05 p.m.
