PETRI Village Trustee C.PROCHNO Village Trustee Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Village President and Board of Trustees on September 28,2004,this Executive Session was called to consider a Personnel matter. Number of pages attached: I Date(s)of review for release: July 2005 Date of approval for release: 9/28/04 6:33 p.m. Personnel It was the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to increase the availability of the Retiree Life Insurance Benefit from$5,000 to $20,000, at the cost of the retiree. This change would only affect employees that retire after the implementation of the benefit. There would be no additional cost to the Village. It was the consensus of the Board to increase the Retiree Life Insurance Benefit from $5,000 to $20,000 as recommended. Also recommended during the Personnel Committee meeting was an implementation of a Retiree Health Savings Plan. New IRS rules allow for more investment options, compared to the current plan. The new rules do not require that all employees participate. It was also the Personnel Committee's recommendation that as a good will gesture, the plan be offered to the Public Works and Police unions without waiting for future contract negotiations. If approved, the plan would become effective on January 1,2005. There is no cost to the Village, since it is funded by the employees' own money. It was the consensus of the Board to implement the new Retiree Health Savings Plan. The meeting adjourned at 6:39 p.m.
