Charles P. Williams
Petition of Mr. Charles P. Williams 321 Birchwood Avenue, Elk Grove Village,
Illinois, a hearing for a special use variation to maintain an existing
radio transmission tower in a residential district and in excess of the
height limitations in such districts. An examination of the record indicates
that the tower was erected in complete disregard for the nresent Ordinances
respecting radio transmission towers in "R" districts; further that the
tower exceeds the height limitations for "R" districts.
The board discussed this matter at great length and had two hearings herein.
The board was unanimous in its feeling that radio transmission towers do
not fit into the overall character of a residential district, that its
existence does not add to the character of the neighborhood, that this
tower is used by the petitioner as a means of supplementing his income by
conducting a business in a "R" district.
On motion of tir. Barrett, seconded, by Mr. Cook, it is recommended to
the President and Board of-Trustees that the petitioner request be denied
and a "Do Not Grant" resolution be adopted. 6 AYES - No NAYS.
