Staddler B. Carey A. Inzerello ABSENT: P. Serafin STAFF: S. Trudan, Plan Reviewer Chairman Brandt called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. in Meeting Room A, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village Residential Zoning Variation - Docket 93-3 1849 Maine Drive. Chairman Brandt stated for the record that the surrounding neighbors were notified and there were no representations from the Elk Grove Fire or Police Departments present. Mr. Thomas Flanagan proceeded to explain his reasons for requesting the variation. He stated that he had one of the large "Stockbridge" homes which was built on the smaller "Westgate" lot in Section 23. The home had to be set back so far that there was very little rear yard available to build on. Chairman Brandt asked staff if the lot was smaller than most. Mr. Trudan explained that the lot was in a subdivision that allowed down sized lots as part of a special use agreement. Mr. Staddler asked why the petitioner chose the dimensions of the proposed construction. Mr. Flanagan explained that he was trying to build the biggest room possible and that the builders he contracted advised him that they were typical room sizes. Mr. Phillips questioned and clarified the dimensions and design of the proposed screen porch and deck. Chairman Brandt asked the Board for a motion. Mr. Staddler made a motion to grant the variation which was seconded by Mr. Inzerello. The motion was passed by unanimous vote. The meeting was adjourned at 7:24 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Steven Trudan Plan Reviewer ST/el C: Chairman and Members of the Zoning Board of Appeals, Village Manager, Assistant Village Manager, Administrative Assistant, Administrative Intern, Village Clerk, Director Engineering and Community Development, Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, Village Attorney
