Chairman Inzerelo called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and read
aloud the legal notice for Docket 93-10, petition, for residential
zoning variation, 7 Kennedy Boulevard.
Mr. Thomas Veverka, agent for the owner, Ted Diamantouros, explained
that the reason for the variation request was to install a fence to
block out noise and debris. Mr. Carey inquired about the size and
construction of the fence and Mr. Veverka explained that the proposed
fence would be a six(6) foot high cedar fence. Mr. Staddler inquired
about the elevation of the fence as compared to the adjacent grade of
the right-of-way and questioned the effectiveness of the proposed fence
as a barrier.
Mr. Guzzardi expressed concern over the line of sight for traffic.
Mr. Keegan noted locations of existing fences in the area.
Mr. Russ Stall of 62 Penrith addressed the Board and expressed an
opinion that from personal experience a chain link fence does not
constitute an effective barrier against debris.
Mr. Carey inquired about responsibility for maintaining property
outside the fence.
Mr. Veverka explained that it was the owner's best interest to accept
that responsibility.
Chairman Inzerello asked for a motion.
A motion was made by Mr. Phillips to grant the variation and was
seconded by Mr. Carey. The motion was passed by unanimous vote.
