Zoning Variation - Docket #00-17 - 675 Stanford Circle
Chairman Phillips called the meeting to order at 7: 00 P.M.
and read the legal notice aloud. The petitioners, David
and Jacquelyn Hamilton were sworn in and asked to present
their case. Mr. Hamilton began his presentation by
explaining that the variation was necessary to build his
proposed addition due to the irregular shape of his lot.
Mr. Schumm asked the petitioner he was aware of any
comments made by neighbors. Mr. Hamilton replied that
there were none that he was aware of and added that his
plans were reviewed and approved by the Homeowners
Association.
Mr. Walz and Mr. Rodgers inquired about the location of the
addition and how it would effect the existing house,
windows, basement escape windows, etc.
A motion was made by Mr. Penley to approve the variation
which was seconded by Mr. Oliveto. The motion was passed
by unanimous vote. The petitioner was directed by Mr.
Phillips to contact the Village Clerk to confirm which
Village Board meeting they should attend for final
approval . The meeting was adjourned at 7:11 P.M.
Zoning Variation - Docket #00-18 - 433 Concord Lane
Chairman Phillips called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.
and read the legal notice aloud. The petitioner, Ms. Joan
Ackermann was sworn in and asked to present her case.
Ms. Ackermann explained that were several of her model home
that were constructed with fireplaces in the same location
as she was proposing. Since her home did not include a
fireplace in the original construction and the home was
built right up to the side lot line, a variation would be
required. Mr. Phillips asked if the fireplace was
necessary to provide suplemental heat for the room. Ms.
Ackermann replied that that was the case.
Mr. Rodgers inquired about what kind of foundation would be
used in the construction of the chase, and asked if the
petitioner was aware of any comments or objections made by
neighbors. Ms. Ackermann stated that she was unaware of
any objections.
Mr. Oliveto asked which part of the house next door would
be facing the fireplace chase. Ms. Ackermann said the
neighbor's garage would be facing the chase.
A motion was made by Mr. Rodgers to approve the variation
and seconded by Mr. Walz;. The motion was passed by
unanimous vote. Mr. Phillips advised the petitioner to
contact the Village Clerk's office to confirm which Village
Board meeting to attend for final approval . The meeting
was adjourned at 7:35 P.M.
