POPE' S PUB
The restaurant is in the process of being sold and in order
to keep the ability to sell alcohol, Mr. Pope paid for a
full year license ($2, 500 . 00) . Mr. Pope' s request for a
pro-rated refund upon the sale of the restaurant was
discussed.
It was the consensus that if a business holding a liquor
license is in business for less than four (4) months a
refund of one-half of the license fee would be refunded, if
the closing is voluntary. (Not due to violations, etc . ) If
in business for more than four (4) months no refund would be
given.
was made from Spaghetti Warehouse for a liquor
catering license in order for then to deliver alcoholic
beverages to the LaQuinta Hotel . After much discussion of
the monitoring that would be required and potential problems
that could arise it was the unanimous consensus to deny this
request .
EZ Pantry
A request from Mr. Patel, owner of the EZ Pantry at 1105
Nerge Road to have a liquor store adjacent to the food store
was discussed. Mr. Patel proposed operating both stores
with a common check-out counter, but with separate entrances
to each store . The commission reviewed the plans as
submitted and found problems with some of the proposed
changes to the stores and suggested stipulations .
The commission suggested that Mr. Patel be advised of the
conditions that must be met before the issuance of license
would be considered.
The stipulations include:
Both stores, EZ Pantry and the liquor store must be in
operation at the same times - those times being
governed by the liquor license regulations .
Storage areas must remain separate .
Counter person must be 21 years of age .
The two stores must remain separate structures.
If Mr. Patel is agreeable a license will be considered.
The meeting adjourned at 7 :40 p.m.
