Johnson, Liquor Commissioner James P. Petri, Commission Member Samuel L. Lissner, Commission Member ALSO PRESENT: George B. Knickerbocker, Village Attorney Patricia S . Smith, Village Clerk James Lancaster, Police Officer Jeffrey Prior. , Police Officer Gina Nunes, Court Reporter President Johnson called the hearing to order at 6 :38 p.m. Ms . Nunes swore in Police Officer Prior and Manahar Patel owner of EZPantry/Liquors Etc . , 1113 Nerge Road, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 . Officer Prior testified as to the incident of June 16, 1998 when an employee of Liquors Etc . sold beer to a confidential informant who is under the age of 21 . The informant did not show nor did he have any means of identification which would have given an age of 21 years or older. The testimony of Officer Prior and Manahar Patel is contained within the court reporter' s transcript which is attached hereto and made a part hereof . Upon hearing the testimony given, the Liquor Commission adjourned to deliberate in closed session. When the Commission returned to open session, the Liquor Commissioner admonished Mr. Patel of the seriousness of the incident and also noted the steps he has taken to reduce the opportunity for this to happen again. Commissioner Johnson then announced that a fine of $250 . 00 and one third (1/3) of the cost of the court reporter' s fees was being imposed. Ms . Nunes swore in Officer Lancaster and Suresh Patel, owner of Sunny Liquors, 1067 Rohlwing Road, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 . Officer Lancaster testified as to the incident of June 16 , 1998 when an employee of Sunny Liquors sold beer to a confidential informant who is under the age of 21 . The informant did not show nor did he have any means of identification which would have given an age of 21 years or older. The testimony of Officer Lancaster and Suresh Patel is contained within the court reporter' s transcript which is attached hereto and made a part hereof . Upon hearing the testimony given the Liquor Commission adjourned to deliberate in closed session. When the Commission returned to open session the Liquor Commissioner admonished Mr. Patel of the seriousness of the incident and further noted that the employee who sold the beer to an underage person was being considered as a manager of the liquor store . Commissioner Johnson announced a fine of $600 . 00 and one third (1/3) of the court reporter fees was being imposed. Ms . Nunes swore in Richard A. Herbert, manager of Hall of Fame Pool Hall who was representing his wife Joyce A. Slabich, the owner. Mr. Herbert stated that he is a chief executive officer of the business . Officer Lancaster testified as to the incident of June 16 , 1998 when an employee of Hall of Fame Pool Hall sold a glass of beer to a confidential informant who is under the age of 21 . The informant did not show nor did he have any means of identification which would have given an age of 21 years or older. The testimony of Officer Lancaster, Mr. Herbert and the employee, Patti Dulowski is contained within the court reporter' s transcript which is attached hereto and made a part hereof . Upon hearing the testimony given, the Liquor Commission adjourned to deliberate in closed session. When the Commission returned. to open session, the Liquor Commissioner admonished Mr. Herbert of the seriousness of the incident and also there should be more extensive training of employees . Commissioner Johnson then announced that a fine of $425 . 00 and one third (1/3) of the court reporter' s fees was being imposed. The public hearing was adjourned at 8 : 5 P.M.
