Johnson, Liquor Commissioner Trustee James P. Petri, Commission Member Trustee Samuel L. Lissner, Commission Member ALSO PRESENT: Village Clerk Ann I . Walsh Village Attorney George B. Knickerbocker Edward Lipsky, Attorney Martin Lipsky Roy McCormick Police Officer Michael Ryan Deputy Chief Larry Hammar Hall of Fame Restaurant/Billiards - 1142 W. Devon Avenue Liquor Commissioner Johnson called the public hearing to order at 6 :30 p.m. Attorney Edward Lipsky informed the Commission that Dr. Herbert, owner of Hall of Fame, was unable to attend the meeting but the day Manager Martin Lipsky and employee Ray Mc Cormick, who had sold to the minor, were present . Roy McCormick, Martin Lipsky and Elk Grove Police Officer Michael Ryan were called as witnesses and duly sworn-in. Attorney Lipsky requested and received copies of the official police report . Officer Ryan gave testimony that on the night of Saturday, July 7, 2001 at approximately 4 :40 p .m. two minor informants were brought into the businesses at 1142 W. Devon (Hall of Fame and Teddy' s Hot Dogs) in an attempt to purchase alcohol . The informant sent to Teddy' s was unable to purchase alcohol, but the minor who entered the Hall of Fame Billiards purchased a 12 ounce bottle of Bud Light from Roy McCormick. Officer Ryan indicated the minor did not carry nor was he asked for any identification. Liquor Commission Public Hearing 2 July 24, 2001 It was noted by Attorney Lipsky that Mr. McCormick has been suspended by Dr. Herbert since the incident . Discussion ensued regarding management and policies of Hall of Fame, as well as training taken by the employees . The complete testimony of Officer Ryan, Roy McCormick and Martin Lipsky is contained within the court reporter' s transcript on file in the Village Clerk' s office. Liquor Commissioner Johnson discussed the importance of compliance and the effectiveness the Elk Grove ' s ordinance requiring identification, regardless of age, of all patrons buying liquor in packaged liquor stores . Upon hearing the testimony, the Liquor Commission adjourned to deliberate in closed session. 1:6 : 55 p.m. ) The Commission reconvened in open session at 7 :15 p.m. The Liquor Commissioner then imposed the following order: Revocation of Liquor License at. Hall of Fame Restaurant/Billiards effective 7 : 00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2001 . The public hearing was adjourned at 7 :25 p.m. Ann I .
