Johnson, Liquor Commissioner Trustee James P. Petri Trustee Samuel L. Lissner ALSO PRESENT: George B. Knickerbocker, Village Attorney Ann I . Walsh, Village Clerk Police Chief, Stephen Schmidt Police Officer George Winkler Rinku Patel Sunil Patel Mayor Johnson called the public hearing to order at 7 :40 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Charles J. Zettek Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village Illinois . The Mayor stated the purpose of the public hearing was to consider evidence concerning the violation of provisions of Ordinance No. 2786 related to a mandatory identification examination of all individuals who attempt to purchase alcohol from owners of a Class B Liquor License; and the possible suspension or revocation of Class B Liquor license or such other sanction as deemed appropriate regarding the liquor license of Payless Express Liquors, 1067 Rohlwing Road, Elk Grove Village, Illinois . Police Officer George Winkler, and owners Rinku Patel and Sunil Patel were sworn in as witnesses herein. Police Officer Winkler gave testimony as to the circumstances leading to the reported violation. As a result of a complaint from a resident who had purchased liquor without being required to show I .D. , Officer Winkler, dressed in regular street attire, went to the Payless Express Liquor store and also purchased liquor without showing an I .D. Testimony was then given by the Payless Express Liquor storeowners, Rinku and Sunil Patel, who discussed the incident and store policies. 1 A complete testimony of all parties is contained in the court reporter' s transcript on file in the Village Clerk' s Office. 7 :55 p.m. Upon hearing the testimony given, the Liquor Commission adjourned to deliberate in closed session. 8 :00 p.m. The Liquor Commission reconvened the public hearing with all members present as stated above. Sunil and Rinku were informed the Liquor Commission ordered a fine of $200 .00, all costs assessed for the Court Reporter fee, and the requirement that the owners photograph the identification of all customers purchasing alcohol to be kept as record for a period of one month.
