Secretary Geinosky called for a motion to name an Acting Chairman. Commissioner Henrici motioned to
appoint Secretary Geinosky as Acting Chairman and Commissioner Paliganoff as Secretary.
Commissioner Meyers seconded the motion. Upon voting(Geinosky,Hauser,Henrici,Sokolowski,
Paliganoff,Thompson,Meyers,Ayers,APES,Glass,ABSENT)the motion carried.
Acting Chairman Gemosky called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Commissioner Ayers noted that he was absent at the last meeting. Commissioner Henrici motioned to
approve the meeting minutes with the note to include Conmussioner Ayers as absent.Commissioner
Paliganoff seconded the motion. Upon voting(Geinosky,Hauser,Hemici,Sokolowski,Paliganoff,
Thompson,Meyers,AYES,Ayers,ABSTAIN,Glass,ABSENT)the motion carried
Item 2: PC Docket#06-6:AZ Auto Repair—Special Use
438 Crossen Avenue
Acting Chairman Geinosky read the petition into record. Secretary Paliganoff swore in the petitioners.
J. Clery stated that the petitioner currently owns the building at 438 Crossen,but that when the petition
was filed he was in the process of buying the building.
J. Clery noted that J&Z Auto Repair is currently leasing space in unincorporated Elk Grove at 2211
Oakton. They have been at this location for the past twelve.years.
J.Clery stated that J&Z Auto Repair is a general repair shop,in which 65-70%of his automotive repass
are electrical in nature. It was noted that a large majority of his customers work in the Elk Grove

Business Park. There will be no painting or bodywork done in the facility. In addition,J.Clery stated
that there would be no noise pollution concerns since there would be no bodywork done in the building.
J.Clcry stated that the hours of operation are Monday through Friday,from 8:00 a.m.until 6:00 p.m.
There will be a total of three(3)automotive workers and six(6)workstations.
Commissioner Hauser noted that the inside of the facility was spotless. He questioned J.Kaminski if he
would be asphalting the north side of the building. J.Kaminski stated that he has already hired a
company to perform that work and has applied for the applicable permits.
Commissioner Hauser asked if the petitioner would have any problems meeting the requirements of the
ordinance. J.Kaminski stated that he would not.
Commissioner Meyers stated that he did not have any comments.
Commissioner Henrici asked if there was any way to get his neighbor to the north to pave his property. J.
Kaminski stated that he wished he could get him to pave the property,but that he could not.
Commissioner Henrici questioned how liquid spills are cleaned up. J.Kaminski stated that they use oil
dry,and noted that there are not any drains in the shop. A.Kaminski noted that they use rags and towels
to absorb the oil. He stated that the rags are placed in a special container that is picked up by a licensed
contractor.
Commissioner Thompson stated that he had no questions.
Commissioner Sokolowski questioned if the petitioner would be resurfacing his rear parking lot and
adding screened fencing. J.Kaminski stated that he intends to resurface the rear parking lot and add
screened fencing. Commissioner Sokolowski asked if the petitioner would be installing any type of
exhaust hood that would filter the exhaust exiting into the atmosphere. J.Kaminski stated that he
intended to do so.
Commissioner Sokolowski asked if the petitioner intended to park cars in the rear of his property for an
extended period of time. J.Kaminski stated that most all of his work is completed within a day.
Commissioner Sokolowski asked if the petitioner owned a tow truck. J.Kaminski stated that they do own
a small tow truck that they keep inside.
Commissioner Ayers asked the petitioner if he intended to address and meet all of staffs comments. J.
Kaminski stated that he would meet all of staff s comments.
Commissioner Paliganoff asked if staff had an opportunity to review the revised parking plan. M.Roan
stated that any recommendation would be contingent upon the final review of the revised parking plan by
Village staff.
Acting Chairman Geinosky stated that he was impressed with what he saw of the inside of the shop. He
also noted that he was happy to hear that the petitioner intended on cleaning up the rear of the property.
With no further questions,Acting Chairman Geinosky asked for a motion.

RECOMMENDATION
Commissioner Henrici moved to recommend approval of the special use petition for Mr.Joze£Kaminski
at 438 Crossen Avenue,subject to staff review of the revised parking plan. Commissioner Meyers
seconded the motion. Upon voting(Geinosky,Hauser,Henrici,Sokolowski,Thompson,Meyers,
Paliganoff,Ayers AYES,Glass,Absent)the motion carried.
Item 3: Adjournment
Commissioner Paliganoff moved to adjourn. Commissioner Meyers seconded the motion. Upon voting
(Geinosky,Hauser,Henrici,Sokolowski,Thompson,Meyers,Paliganoff,Ayers AYES,Glass,Absent)
the motion carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m
