MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON NOVEMBER 14,2006
Chairman Shapiro called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek
Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the
following were present: Chairman Alan J. Shapiro, DDS, and Secretary E. Butch Ehrke.
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded by Chairman Shapiro that the minutes
of October 17, 2006 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with
the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman
Shapiro declared the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
1. Police Consultants, Inc., Invoice 4572 dated 10/26/06 in the amount of$516.00
for psychological evaluation of police officer candidate.
2. Theodore Polygraph, Invoice 15713 dated 11/06/06 in the amount of$375.00
for polygraph examinations for two police candidates.
3. Theodore Polygraph Service, Invoice 15723 dated 11/13/06 in the amount of
$125.00 for polygraph examination of police officer candidate.
4. Police Consultants, Inc., Invoice 4579 dated 11/10/06 in the amount of$516.00
for psychological evaluation of police officer candidate.
5. Daily Herald, Invoice T3845234 dated 11/7/06 in the amount of$32.50 for
publication of rescheduled meeting.
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded by Chairman Shapiro that the Board
authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.
CORRESPONDENCE
1. Memo to Village Clerk advising her of date change for regular November
meeting of the Board of Fire&Police Commissioners.
2. Memo to Firefighters advising them of the deadline for Letters of Intent to
participate in the Fire Lieutenant Promotional Process.
3. Written Reprimand issued to Police Officer for violating Rules and Regulations
of the Elk Grove Village Police Department, Sections 26.1.1A, Rules of
Conduct, Rule 33 (Failure to be prompt for duty assignment).
OLD BUSINESS
1, Discussed Fire Lieutenant Promotional Process
NEW BUSINESS
1. Meeting with Chief Schmidt to discuss schedule for Police Officer testing
process.
PENDING
1. Police Officer Hiring Process—Authorization to fill two vacancies at this time.
Five names remain on the eligibility list that will expire on March 1, 2008.
2. Firefighter Hiring Process—No authorization to fill vacancies at this time.
Twenty-eight names remain on the current eligibility list scheduled to expire on
February 2, 2007.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded Chairman Shapiro that the meeting be
adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Shapiro
declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
