HELD ON JUNE 12,2007
Chairman Shapiro called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the Charles J.Zettek
Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the
following were present: Chairman Alan J. Shapiro,DDS, and Secretary E. Butch Ehrke,
and Commissioner Michael P. Kontek.
It was moved by Commissioner Kontek and seconded by Commissioner Ehrke that the
minutes of May 22,2007 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense
with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon
Chairman Shapiro declared the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
1. Police Consultants,Inc.,Invoice 4727 dated June 5,2007 in the amount of
$1015.00 for psychological evaluation of police candidates.
2. Theodore Polygraph Service,Inc., Invoice 15990 dated May 23,2007 in the
amount of$125.00 for polygraph examination of police candidate.
3. Police Consultants,Inc., Invoice 4732 dated June 8,2007 in the amount of
$2,015.00 for four police candidate psychological evaluations.
4. Daily Herald, Invoice T3933823 dated June 1,2007 in the amount of$31.05 for
publication of June meeting date change.
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded by Commissioner Kontek that the
Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.
CORRESPONDENCE
1. Memo from Chief Schmidt regarding comments on the performance of
probationary police officer.
2. Memo notifying Village Clerk Memo from Lt. John Pilkington announcing his
retirement effective June 3,2007.
3. Memo to Village Clerk advising that the meeting schedule for June 19,2007
has been rescheduled for June 12,2007 at 6:00 p.m.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Discuss fine lieutenant promotional process.
NEW BUSINESS
1. None
PENDING
1. Police macer Hiring Process—three vacancies; authorization to replace three.
Thirty-six names remain on the current eligibility list scheduled to expire on
March 30,2009.
2. Firefighter Hiring Process—five vacancies;no authorization to replace at this
time. Eligibility List has expired.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded Commissioner Kontek that the
meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman
Shapiro declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
