Shopping Center Overweight Parking Ordinance
After a brief discussion regarding overweight vehicle parking in shopping centers, it was the
consensus of the Committee to approve Devon Avenue Market's request for the Village to enforce
no truck parking over 5 tons. In addition, it was the consensus of the Committee to allow shopping
center owners in Elk Grove to decide if they would like the Village to regulate overweight vehicles
in their parking lots. The businesses within these shopping centers will be copied on all
communications to advertise the enforcement of the overweight vehicle ordinance with their patrons.
The Village Board will adopt an ordinance at the August 21 Village Board meeting.
Village Board Laptops
After a brief discussion, it was the consensus of the Committee to seek further information
regarding the pros and cons of providing the Board with Village-owned laptops. A follow up
meeting was scheduled for September 18.
Emerald Ash Borer Program
The Mayor made a presentation to the Committee regarding the Village's Emerald Ash Borer(EAB)
Tree Removal and Replacement Program. Upon discussing the details of the program, it was the
consensus of the Committee to move forward with the program and sign the negotiated agreements
with Powell Tree Care and St. Aubin's nursery. The Village Board will adopt an ordinance at the
August 21 Village Board meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
