The Village Board was informed that Fire Chief Doug Goostree would be retiring
effective June 9. He will be taking a position with McHenry County College. The
Mayor stated that the two (2) internal candidates that they would look at would be
Deputy Chief Dave Miller and Deputy Chief Al Vrshek.
A question was raised as to what the typical term of a Fire Chief would be. Gary Parrin
noted that the Village was fortunate that former Fire Chief MacArthur was in the position
for 12 years. Previous to that, Fire Chiefs each held terms of approximately 5 to 6 years.
The meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
