Geographic Information System
The Deputy Village Manager gave a presentation on Geographic Information System (GIS) and
the regional GIS Consortium (GISC). The Consortium is currently made up of thirteen(13)
communities in northeastern Illinois. Joining the GIS Consortium would be beneficial to the
Village by having access to the existing data already compiled for the other member
communities, as well as having the technical expertise managed by a third party. It was the
consensus of the Committee to allow staff to enter into discussions with the GIS Consortium and
seek membership for Elk Grove Village.
