THE PRESIDENTT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE,
ILLINOIS, HELD ON MARCH 11, 1957.
President Charles A. Hodlmair called the meeting to order at 8:20 P.M.
at the residence of the President in said Village, pursuant to a motion made and
carried at the meeting held September 24, 1956, and directed the Village Clerk
to call the roll.
Upon the roll be ing called the following Trustees answered "PRESERTT" :
Frank R. Angelotti, Morgan P'. Burke, Jr., James L. Carroll, Laurence F. Grindel,
Roger J. Patzer and Leonard A. Scharringhausen; "ABSENT" : None'.
Also present at this meeting: George F. Scharringhausen, Jr., Village Treasurer,
William N. Glab, Police Magistrate, Martin Ruderman, Jack Michala, Frank Lewis
of Centex Construction Company, Edward J. McCabe, DeSoto B. McCabe, Jr. and
Frank M. Opeka.
It was moved by Trustee Carroll and seconded by Trustee Grindel that
the minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees held on February 25,
1957, as submitted, be approved. The motion was voted upon by acclamation.
Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the minutes approved.
It was moved by Trustee Scharringhausen and seconded by Trustee
Grindel that the PLAT OF SUBDIVISION OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE -
SECTION I SOUTH, be approved and that the President and Clerk be authoried to
sign same for the Village. The motion was voted upon by acclamation. Whereupon
the President declared the motion carried.
A discussion regarding the Gas Ordinance and the Electric Ordinance followed,
and it was decided that the Gas Ordinance be adopted. In accordance with the
suggestion made by DeSoto B. McCabe, Jr., Engineer for the Village, the Electric
Ordinance was to be kept on the table for :ftzrther study and review.
It was moved by Trustee Burke, Jr., and seconded by Trustee Angelotti
that the Gas Ordinance be taken from the table. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
It was moved by Trustee Burke, Jr., and seconded by Trustee
Scharringhausen that the GAS ORDINANCE - No. 8, "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING NORTHERN
ILLINOIS GAS COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, TO CONSTRUCT, OPERATE AND
MAINTAIN A GAS DISTRIBUTING SYSTEM IN AND THROUGH THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE
VILLAGE, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS" be passed and approved. The President asked that
the roll be called for a vote on the motion and upon the roll being called the
following Trustees voted "AYE": Angelotti, Burke, Jr., Carroll, Grindel, Patzer
and Scharringhausen; "NAY": None. Whereupon the President declared the motion
carried and the Ordinance passed and approved same in open meeting by affixing
his signature thereto.
It was moved by Trustee Scharringhausen and seconded by Trustee Burke,Jr.,
that Resolution No. 3-57, "RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING ELECTRION PRECINCTS, DESIGNATING
POLLING PLACES AND APPOINTING JUnGES AND CLERKS" be passed and approved. The
President asked that the roll be called for a vote on the motion and upon the roll
being called the following Trustees voted "AYE" : Angelotti, Burke, Jr., `Carroll,
Grindel, Patzer and Scharringhausen; "NAY": None. Whereupon the President declared
the motion carried and the resolution passed and approved same in open meeting by
affixing his signature thereto.
A letter of transmittal of the Official Plan for the Village of Elk Grove, was
received from the Plan Commission.

It'.was moved by Trustee Angelotti and seconded by Trustee Patzer that
Ordinance No. 9, "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE OFFICIAL PLAN OF THE VILLAGE OF
ELK GROVE VILLAGE" be adopted. The President asked that the roll be called for
a vote on the motion and upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted
"AYE" : Angelotti, Burke, Jr., Carroll, Grindel, Patzer and Scharringhausen;
"NAY": None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the
Ordinance passed and approved same in open meeting by affixing his signature
thereto'.
A letter received from the Elk Grove dater and Sewer CoLpany, Inc., requesting
a permit for the construction of the complete water and sewer systems in Elk
Grove Village, Section One, North and Section One, South, was read by the
Village Clerk.
It was moved by Trustee Bruke-, Jr., and seconded by Trustee Carroll
that the Village Clerk be authorized to issue a permit to the Elk Grove Nater
and Sewer Company, Inc., subject to approval by the Metropolitan Sanitary
District of Greater Chicago and the State of Illinois, for the use of the streets
within the Village to construct all the sewer and watermains in Section I North
and Section I South, according to plans and specifications prepared by DeSoto B.
McCabe & Associates. The President asked that the roll be called for a vote on
the motion and upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted "AYE" :
Angelotti, Burke, Jr.., Carroll, Grindel, Patzer and Scharringhausen; "NAY": None.
Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
DeSoto Be McCabe, Jr., Chairman of the Plan Commission, requested and was granted
permission by President Hodlmair to address the Board of Trustees relative to the
Scavenger Situation in the Village. Mr'. McCabe then recommended that .two or three
men be appointed to serve on a special committee to investigate the scavenger
situation, and present a formal report at the next meeting.
. It was moved by Trustee Angelotti and seconded by Trustee Grindel that
the President appoint a committee of four men to serve on a special committee to
make a formal report on the scavenger situation in the Village of Elk Grove. The
motion was voted upon by acclamation. Whereupon the President declared the motion
carried, and appointed the following men to serve on the aforementioned committee:
Leonard A`, Scharringhausen, Chairman; DeSoto Be McCabe, Jr.; Morgan P: Burke,Jr.,
and James L. Carroll'.
It was moved by Trustee Angelotti and seconded by Trustee Grindel that
this meeting adjourn. The motion was voted upon by acclamation. Whereupon the
President declared the motion carried and the meeting regularly adjourned. 9:40 P.M.
