MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE
�^ PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE PILLAGE OF ELg GROVE VILLAGE,
ILLINOIS, HELD ON APRIL 22, 1957•
President Charles a Hodlmair called the meeting to order at 9:25 P.M. at the
residence of the President in said Village, pursuant to a motion made and
carried at the meeting held September 24, 1956, and directed the Village Clerk
to call the roll.
Upon the roll being called the following Trustees answered "PRESENT"; Frank R.
Angelotti, Morgan P. Burke, Jr., Laurence F. Grindel and Leonard A.
Scharringhausen; "ABSENT": James L. Carroll and Roger J. Patzer.
Also present at this meeting: William N. Glab,. Police Magistrate; .Eugene
Martin Ruderman, Jack Michala and Frank M. Opeka, Attorney for the Village.
It was moved by Trustee Burke, Jr., and seconded by Trustee Grindel
that the minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees held on
April 9, 1957, as submitted, be approved. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation. 'Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the
minutes approved.
It was moved by Trustee Scharringhausen and seconded by Trustee
Angelotti that the President and Board of Trustees canvass the votes cast at
the regular election held on April 16, 1957. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the
votes were canvassed.
Resolution No. 11-57 "RESOLUTION canvassing the vote cast at the regular election
oii April 16, 1957 and declaring the results thereof." was presented to the
President and Board of Trustees by Frank M. Opeka, Attorney for the Village.
It was moved by Trustee Burke, Jr., and seconded by Trustee Grindel
that:

RESOLU'T'ION canvassing the vote
cast at the regular election on
April 16, 1957, and declaring the
results thereof.
WHEREAS, a regular election was held in and for the Village of
Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illinois on Tuesday, April 16, 1957 for
the purpose of electing a President, Village Clerk, ,three Trustees and a
Police Magistrate, and
WEMIraS, the President and Board of Trustees have canvassed
the votes cast at said election and are ready to report,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illinois;
Section 1. That said election was duly held as provided by law.
Section 2. That 49 votes were cast as follows:
- FOR PRESIDENT:
Charles A. Hodlmair, Sr. received 45 votes
FOR VILLAGE CLERK:
Margaret C. Petrie received 4 votes
FOR TRUSTEES: (Three to be elected)
Morgan P. Burke, Jr. received 45 votes
James L. Carroll received 45 votes
Leonard A. Scharringhausen received 45 votes
FOR.POLICE MAGISTRATE:
William N. Glab received 45 votes
Three defective ballots were cast and not counted.

Section 3. (1) CHARLES A. HODLMAIR, SR. having received
the highest number of votes be and he is hereby declared elected to the
office of President of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Ill.
(2) MARGARET C. PETRIE, having received the highest number of
votes be and she is hereby declared elected to the office of village Clerk
of the village of Elk Grove village, Cook County, Illinois.
(3) MORGAN P. BUM, JR., JAMS L. CARROLL and LEONARD A.
SCHARRINGHAUSEN, having received the highest number of votes be and
each of them is hereby declared elected to the office of Trustee of
. the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illinois.
(4) WILLIAM N. GLAB, having received the highest number of
votes be and he is hereby declared elected to the office of Police
Magistrate in and for the village of Elk Grove village, Coo$ County,
Illinois.
That all the foregoing officials so elected shall qualify in
the manner and time prescribed by law.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be in full force and
effect forthwith upon its passage and approval according.to law.

vote on the motion and upon the roll being called the. following Trustees
voted "AYE": Angelotti, Burke, Jr., Grindel and Scharringhausen;. "NAY": None.
Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the resolution passed
and approved same in open meeting by affixing his signature thereto.
James L. Carroll, Trustee, arrived at 9:39 P.M.
Charles A. Hodlmair, Sr., Margaret C. Petrie, Morgan P. Burke, Jr., James L.
� _- Carroll, Leonard A. Scharringhausen and William N. Glab took the oath of
office for their respective offices, thereupon William N. slab administered
the Oath of Office to:
Charles A. Hodlmair, Sr. President
Margaret C. Petrie Village Clerk
Morgan P. Burke, Jr. Trustee
James L. Carroll Trustee
Leonard A. Scharringhausen Trustee
Margaret C. Petrie, village Clerk.administered the Oath of Office to:
William N. Glab Police Magistrate
Each of said officials signed the oath of office and said oaths of office
are in the possession of the Village Clerk and are a part of the records
of the Village of Elk Grove village.
It was moved by Trustee Angelotti and seconded by Trustee Carroll
that Ordinance No. 14 uAN ORDINANCE licensing peddlers and hawkers." be
passed and approved. The President asked that the roll be called for a vote
on the motion and upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted
"AYE": Augelotti, Burke, Jr., Carroll, Grindel and Scharringhausen; "NAY":
None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the Ordinance
passed and approved same in open meeting by affixing his signature. thezeto.
It was moved by Trustee Grindel- and seconded by Trustee Carroll
that publication of Ordinance No. 14 by posting 'at three (3) prominent places
in the village and certification of posting by person-posting the Ordinance .
be submitted to the Village Clerk. The motion was voted tton by acclamation.
Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
It was moved by Trustee Scharringhausen and seconded by Trustee
Carroll that the following invoices be approved for payment:
3/31/57 Paddock Publications, Inc., Publishing Election Notice $6.60
4/15/57 Paddock Publications, Inc., Publishing Specimen Ballot 29.25
Total — — 35.95
The President asked that the roll be called for a vote on the motion and
upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted °AYE4: Angelotti,
Burke, Jr., Carroll, Grindel and Scharringhausen; ONAYu: None. Whereupon
the President declared the motion carried and the invoices approved for
payment.
Roger J. Patzer, Trustee,, - arrived at 9:24.
It was moved by Trustee Angelotti and seconded by Trustee Grindel
that this meeting adjourn. The notion was voted upon by acclamation.
Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the meeting
regularly adjourned.. 9:27 P.M.
