HomeMy WebLinkAboutVILLAGE BOARD - 07/08/1957 - VILLAGE BOARD MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE, ILLINOIS, HELD ON JULY S, 1957. President Charles A. Hodlmair called the meeting to order at 5:15 P.M. at the residence of the President in said Village, pursuant to a motion made and carried at the meeting held September 24, 1956, and directed the Village Clerk to call the roll. Upon the roll being called the following Trustees answered "PRESENT": James. L. Carroll, Laurence F. Grindel, Roger J. Patzer and Leonard A. Scharringhausen; "ABSENT": Frank R. Angelotti and Morgan P. Burke, Jr. Also present at this meeting: Jack Michala, Secretary of the Zoning Commission; Edward J. McCabe of DeSoto B. McCabe & Associates, Engineer for the Village; Frank M. Opeka, Attorney for the Village; Frank Crossen of Centex Construction Company, Inc.; Mr. John T. Moore and Mr. D. W. McGraw. It was moved by Trustee ScharriDghausen and seconded by Trustee Carroll that the minutes of the Regular Meeting ng of the Board of Trustees held on June 24, 1957., as submitted, be approved. The motion was voted upon by acclamation. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the minutes approved. A letter of transmittal was read, received from the Zoning Commission of the Village of Elk Grove Village, signed by Jack C. Michala, Secretary, attached thereto was the transcript of the proceedings in connection with the public hearing held on June 27, 1 , on the y 957 question of the proposed zoning _ ordinance and map for the Village of Elk Grove Village. The Zoning Commission recommends the adoption of this Zoning Ordinance and map as submitted. It was moved by Trustee Patzer and seconded by Trustee Grindel that Ordinance No. 20 "AN ORDINANCE to -regulate and limit the height and bulk of buildings; to regulate and limit the intensity of the use of lot areas, and to regulate and determine the areas of open spaces within and surrounding such buildings; to classify, regulate and restrict the location of trades and industries and the location of buildings designed for specified industrial, business, residential and other uses; to divide the entire Village of Elk Grove Village into districts for the purpose of this ordinance; to fix standards to which buildings or structures shall conform; to prohibit uses, buildings or structures incompatible with the character of such districts respectively; and to prevent additions to and alterations or remodeling of existing buildings or structures in such away as to avoid the restrictions and limitations lawfully imposed hereunder, and to provide penalties for violation hereof." be passed and approved. The President asked that the roll be called for a vote on the motion and upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted "AYE": Carroll, Grindel, Patzer and Scharringhausen; "NAY": None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the Ordinance passed and approved same in open meeting by affixing his signature thereto. A petition for annexation was presented and read to the President and Board of !� Trustees;XXXXV KK The petitioners GREAT NORTHERN DEVELOPMENT CO., a Delaware corporation, and CHICAGO DISTRICT PIPELINE COMPANY, an Illinois corporation, and represent unto the corporate authorities of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illinois that they are the sole owners of record of the following described land and territory located in the County of Cook and State of Illinois, and is uninhabited and has no electors residing - l - 7/9/57 thereon: Parcel No. 1 A. It was moved by Trustee Scharringhausen and seconded by Trustee Grindel that the following invoices be approved for payment: 7/2/57 Suburban Blue Print Co.,Inc., C.B. 18x24 Inv. #39861 $5.55 7/3/57 Suburban Blue Print Co., Inc. 30 Zone Maps #39908 .=3.80 $9.35 The President asked that the roll be called for a vote on the motion and upon -- the roll being called the following Trustees voted "AYE": Carroll, Grindel, Patzer and Scharringhausen; "NAY": None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the invoices approved for payment. - 4 - 7/9/57 I it It was moved by Trustee Scharringhausen and seconded by Trustee Carroll that the Chief of Police, Thomas A. Lauzon be paid $600.00 per month, on the first and fifteenth of each month retroactive to May 29, 1957. The President asked that the roll be called for a vote on the motion and upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted "AYE": Carroll, Grindel, Patzer and Scharringhausen; 11NAY": None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried. A discussion followed regarding the appropriation ordinance for 1957- It was moved by Trustee Carroll and seconded by Trustee Patzer that Prank Opeka, Attorney for the Village, be authorized to prepare the 1957 Appropriation Ordinance. The President asked that the roll be called for a vote on the motion and upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted "AYE": Carroll, Grindel, Patzer and Scharringhausen; "NAY": None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the invoices approved for payment. The First Addition to Elk Grove Village Section I North was presented and turned over to the Plan Commission by Charles A. Hodlmair. It was moved by Trustee Grindel and seconded by Trustee Carroll that this meeting be adjourned to Wednesday, July 10, 1956 at 8:00 P. S. The motion was voted. upon by acclamation.
