President Charles A. Hodlmair called the meeting to order. at 6::4 P.M.'�.ai the Ira L. Rupley School in said Village and directed the Village. Trustee Burke presented an ordinance amending Section 3 of ArticI0,1I Of as 6 Ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINAqCE pertaining to Animals" knOw a s Ordinance No. 58)o It was moved by Trustee Burke and seconded .by` :Trustee Scharringhausend that Ordinance No. 1140' "AN ORDINANCE amending Sect!o 3 of Article II of an Ordinance entitled 'AN ORDINANCE pertaining to- AnAals, (known as Ordinance No. 58s" be adopted. The President asked that., .t& roll be called on the motion 9121159 and upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted "AYE:" Burke, I Hartshorn, Scharringhausen, Smith, Young; "NAY:" None; "ABSENT:" Carroll. ` Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and approved the Ordinance by affixing his signature thereto. i The Village Clerk reported that we have received the Auditor's Report for the fiscal year ending April 30, 1959. This was referred to the Finance Cam- mittee for study and recommendation. i The Village Clerk read a letter dated September 21, 1959, from Edgard Fletcher, Engineer for the Village, regarding engineering plans for Unit 8, recommending that the Sanitary Seiner be approved and the contractor be allowed to start on this work, and asking for more time to study the Storm Sewer andWater System to report at the next regular board meeting on September 28, 1959. i It was moved by Trustee Young and seconded by Trustee Hartshorn that the Board concur in the recommendation of the Engineer for the Village and approve only the Sanitary Sewer of Unit 8. The President asked that the roll be called on the motion and upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted "AYE:" Burke, Hartshorn, Scharringhausen, Smith, Young; "NAY.:" None; "ABSENT:" Carroll. whereupon the President declared the motion carried. The Village Clerk reported receipt of Metropolitan Sanitary District Permit No. 1959-2011 - Section. 8. The Village Clerk read a letter from Mr. Robert Fleming, Chairman of the Library Board, submitting a proposed ordinance providing penalties for the misuse and abuse of property belonging to the Elk Grove Village Public Library and providing further for the preservation of pbblie records. This was re- ferred to the Attorney for the Village for study and report at the next regular meeting, to be held on September 28, 1959. The Village Clerk read .a letter dated September 21, 19593 from Evan W. Stebbins regarding refiling of plat of Section 7. i It was moved by Trustee Young and seconded by Trustee Burke that the President and Village Clerk be authorized to sign approval of the First Addi- tion to Elk Grove Village Section 7 Plat, upon approval of the Plan Commission. The President asked that the roll be calked on-the motion and upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted "AYE:" Burke, Hartshorn, Scharring- hausen, Smith, Young; "NAY:" None; "ABSENT:" Carroll. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried. The Village Clerk read a letter dated September 214 1959, from:.Evan.W. Stebbins requesting recommendation of the Plan Commission for Plat of Vacation for drainage ditch in Unit 3, Centex Industrial Park* It was moved by Trustee Young and seconded by Trustee Burke that this Plat of Vacation of Unit 3 be referred to the Plan Commission and Village Engineer, for study and report. The President asked that the roll be called on the motion- and upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted "AYE:" Burke, Hartshorn, Scharringhausen, Smith, Young; "NAY:" None; "ABSENT:" Carroll. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried. The Village Clerk read a letter dated September 21, 1959, from Evan W.* Stebbins regarding acceptance of construction in Section 2, and including guarantee of one ,year fw such construction. This letter also outlined previous exceptions to the requested acceptance, and advised completion of these exceptions. This was referred to the Village Engineer for inspection and recommendation. The :Village Clerk read a letter dated September 21, 1959, from Evan W. Stebbins 'i regarding temporary sales office and model home area to be located North of Higgins Road, and enclosing copy of letter granting approval of the Board for ' such construction (dated 4/12/57), .and copy of minutes of meeting authorizing such letter (dated 4/8/57). This will be placed in the Village Clerk's file. The Village Clerk read a letter from Benjamin & Lang, regarding possibility of the Village purchasing the Water & Sewer system, and outling their experience alorig these lines. President Hodimair referred this to the Sewer & Wfater Acquisition files_ andcalled a meeting of the committee for 10:00 PeX. Monday nights September 280 19590 _toh6ing the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees. The Vi-Ilage' Clerk announced receipt of the first announcement of the forth- coming 46th annual contevence of the Illinois Municipal Leagues, scheduled to take place in Springfieldj, Illinois# from Saturday2 November 7 though'Tusisdayo November 109 Trustee Burke was appointed to determine the number of persons attending from Elk Grove Village and report at the next regular meetings The Village Clark announced receipt of notice of Second Annual Metropolitan Area Planning Conferences, sponsored by the Northeastern Illinois Metropolitan Area Planning Commissions, to be held on Tuesdays September 22# 1959. The Village Clerk read a letter from the Kidney Disease Foundation of Illinois regarding the forthcoming fund-raising.coWaign; this was referred to Trustee Smith for investigations I It was moved by Trustee Scharringhausen and -seconded by Trustee Burke that the Village order from Chicago Decalcomania Company an adequate supply of 1960 vehicle stickers, based on a quotation of $59*95 per thousands The President asked that the roll be called on the motion and upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted "AYE:" Burke$ Hartshorn., Scharring- hausens Smiths Young; "NAY:" None; "ABSENT: Carroll. Whereupon the President declared the motion carriede Trustee Scharringhausen reported it would 'cost approximately 41775.00 to renovate the barn on Tonne Road to the extent that it could be used to hold Court s.easions and Village Board meetings (81200* plywood paneling and acoustical coiling; %%150o electrical work; $425. oil burner)e It was moved by Trustee Burke and seconded by Tru6tee Hartshorn that this matter be referred,to the Board as a Committee-Of-The-Wholee The motion was voted upon by acclaza4iono Whereupon the President. declared the motion carried. President Hodlmair recommended that the Police Department investigate to as- certain that all vehicles bear the Elk Grove Village vehicle stickers The Village Clerk reported that her secretary has been testing a Royal re- conditioned typewriters which is available to the Village for $1b5o00o It was moved by Trustee Scharringhausen and seconded by Trustee Burke that the Village purchase a Royal Typewriter for use by the office of the Village Clerk, for a sum not to exceed �165*00* The President asked that the roll be called on the motion and upon the.rollbeing called the - Hartshorns Scharringhausens Smiths following Trustees voted "AYE:" Burkaj, Young; nNAY:" None; "ABSENT0 Carroll. . Whereupon the President declared the motion carried* It was moved by Trustee .loung and seconded by Trustee SeharringhauSen that the Village Board approve expenditure of $125,00 for the addition of power steering to the tractor heretofore approved. The President asked that the roll be called on the motion and upon the roll being Called the following Trus- tees voted`aye:" . Burke., Hartshorny Scharringhausens Smith., Young; "NAY0 None; OABSuqNT:g Carroll. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried. It was moved by Trustee Burke and seconded by Trustee Hartshorn that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted.upon by acclamation.
