Hodlmair called the meeting to order at 8:10 P,M. at the Ira L. Rupley School in said Village and directed the Village Clerk to call the roll. Upon the roll being called the follolaing Trustees answered "PRESEET": Frank R. Angelotti, Morgan P. Burke, James L. Carroll, Laurence F. Grindel and Roger J. Patzer; "ABSENT": Leonard A. Scharringhausen. Also present at this meeting: Frank M. Opeka, Attorney for the Village; Edward Cliford, Police Chief; Richard Hoffman, representing the Elk Grove Herald; and residents of the Village of Elk Grove Village. President Hodlmair introduced the Trustees Elect: James R. Young, Robert E. Hartshorn and Charles P. Smith. It was moved by Trustee Patzer and seconded by Trustee Carroll that .the Minutes of a Regular Meeting of the President and Board of Trustees held on April 13, 1959, as submitted, be approved. The motion was voted u_von by acclamation. whereupon the President declared the motion carried. Trustee Carroll, Chairman of the Finance Committee, presented seven invoices, amounting to a total of 1139.22, to be approved for payment. It was moved by Trustee Angelotti and seconded by Trustee Burke that the following invoices be approved for payment: j If. S. Dailey & Co., 4/10/59 - Excel Card Holder - Police Dept. $ 4.92 i E. N. Burke, Carroll, Grindel, Patzer; "NAY": None. 'IABSl;.�": Trustee Scharringhausen. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried. Trustee Burke, Chairman of the Judiciary and Building Committee, presented plans for the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit. It was moved by Trustee Patzer and seconded by Trustee Burke that a permit be granted and the fees waived to the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, subject to all building and zoning ordinances, the fee only to be waived. President Hodlmair asked that the roll be called on the motion and upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted "AYE": Angelotti, Rorke, Carroll, Grindel, Patzer; "NAY": None. "ABSENT": Trustee Scharringhausen. Whereunon the President declared the motion carried. It was moved by Trustee Patzer and seconded by Trustee Burke to proceed with the canvass of the votes of the regular election held on April 21.- 1959. 1,1959. The motion was voted upon by acclamation. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried, and directed the Village Clerk to break the seals on the Tally Sheet Envelopes and proceed with the canvass of the votes. The Village Clerk read the proposed resolution covering the canvassing of the results of the election. It was moved by Trustee Patzer and seconded by Trustee Carroll that Resolution no. 6-59 "RESOLUTION CA_INTA.SSING TrFY, RESULTS OF THE REGULAR ELECTION HELD APRIL 21, 1959 FOR TILE �:CTION OF TH'R?E VILLAGE TRUSTEES AND VOTING ON THE QUESSTION OF ADCPTIRG THE: FIRE AND POLICE CO141ISSIONEfiS, DECLARING TIIE RESULTS AND FD DING FACTS AS TO NOTICE AND BALLOT" be adopted and approved. - 1 - 4/27/59 i President Hodlmair asked that the roll be called on the motion and upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted "AYB": Angelotti, Burke, Carroll, Grindel, Patzer; "NAY": None. It was moved by Trustee Grindel and seconded by Trustee Carroll that the judges of the election held on April 21, 1959, be compensated for. their services by a check in the amount of 515.00 each. The President asked that the roll be called on the motion and upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted "AYE": Angelotti, Burke, Carroll, Grindel, Patter; "NAY": None. "ABSEN"T": Trustee Scharringhausen. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried, and the following ,judges will receive a check in the amount of It15.00: Marion Bonner Henny Bohnert May -Fyfe Marion Scharringhausen Helen Stafenes Lillian Scharringhausen Mary R. Smith Dorothy Thulin Lucile Hallier Mary Allen A letter was received, signed by four property owners. requesting action on a drainage complaint. It was moved by Trustee Burke and seconded by Trustee Grindel to authorize the Engineer for the Village to investigate this complaint and others that may come in in the meantime and make- recommendations to the Village Board. The President asked that the roll be called on the motion and upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted "AYE": Angelotti, Burke, Carroll, I, Grindel, Patzer. "NAY": None. "ABSENT": Trustee Scharringhausen. Whereuoon the President declared the motion carried. A letter dated April 13, 1959, received from Elk Grove Village Homeowners Association re: "pavement at the corner of Briarwood and Ridgewood Streets". was read. President Hodlmair referred this to the attention of Mr. Charles Bonner, for the attention of the Special Committee — Inspection Committee of Streets and Sidewalks. The following letter (read at the Regular Meeting held on April 13, 1959) was received by President'l3adlmair: Illinois State Senate Arthur J. Bidwill, President Pro Tempore March 30, 1959 Mr. Charles A. Hodlmair, Mayor Elk Grove Village, Illinois Dear Mr. Hodlmair: I am enclosing a Resolution passed by the Illinois- State Senate honoring the Village of Elk Grove for being named the "Most Progressive Suburb of 1958." I thought perhaps you would like to have the enclosure for your files. Sincerely yours, AJB:cyd /S/ Arthur J. Bidwill Rncl. (Senate Resolution No. 22) President Hodlmair requested the Village Clerk to write a letter of thanks to Senator Bidwill. Trustee Carroll was granted permission to leave the meeting. (9:00 P.M.) Trustee Patzer presented two (2) Agreements between the Village of Elk Grove Village and Public Service Company (Supplement to Rate 23 Contract, dated December 9, 1957, showing changes in street lighting service). Agreement dated March 9, 1959, for the installation of street light poles (No. 112 thru No. 117) to be installed in Section 4, and agreement dated April 15. 1959, for the installation of street light poles (No. 149 thru No. 195) to be installed in Section 6. Trustee Patzer recommended that the orders for the installation of street lights in Section 4 and Section 6 should be executed by the President, at this meeting, thereby avoiding the replacement of lawns. - 2 - , 4/27/59 Yt was md0 by Trustee Patzer and second Trustee Burke that the President be authorized to sign the orders for the installation of street lights in Section 4 and Section 6 in accordance with the list of locations set forth in the orders. The President asked that the roll be called on the notion and Upon the roll being called the following Trustees voted "AYE": Angelotti, Burke, Gri Grindel, Patzer. "NAY": hone. "ABSEKTII: Trustees Carroll and Scharringhausen. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. President Hodlmair read a letter -from fir. Beaupre re: Parks and Recreation locations. President $odlmair advised he will refer this letter to the Village Community Council. The Village Clerk read a notice from the State of Illinois, Department of Public Works and Buildings, Division of Highways, dated April 11, 1959, regarding the Motor Puel Tax allotment for the Month of March in _the amount of $1,067.64. The Village Clerk read a letter from Charles L. and Janet S. Vargo, in which they withdrew their petition for annexation. This petition had been presented and read at the Regular Meeting of the President and Board of Trustees, held on April 13, 1959• It was moved by Trustee Angelotti and seconded. by Trustee Grindel that the meeting adjourn.
