MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONE CLERK'S OFFICE
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON FEBRUARY 10, 2009
Chairman Shapiro called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building,
901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were
present: Chairman Alan J. Shapiro, DDS, and Secretary E. Butch Ehrke, and Commissioner
Michael P. Kontek.
It was moved by Commissioner Kontek and seconded by Commissioner Ehrke that the
minutes of January 22, 2009 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense
with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman
Shapiro declared the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
1. Daily Herald, Invoice T4131993 dated 1/24/2009 in the amount of$24.15 for
publication of meeting change.
2. Office Depot, Invoice 460456563 dated 1/20/2009 in the amount of$78.27 for
office supplies.
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded by Commissioner Kontek that the Board
authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation
whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.
CORRESPONDENCE
1. Written Reprimand dated 2/3/2009 issued to Police Officer for violating Rules and
Regulations of the Elk Grove Village Police Department, Section 26.1.1 A, Rules
of Conduct, Rule 09 (Inattention to Duty).
2. Memo to Village Clerk advising that the Regular Meeting of the Fire & Police
Commission has been rescheduled from January 20, 2009 to January 22, 2009.
3. E-mail to Firefighters dated 1/30/2009 advising recommended study materials for
the upcoming Fire Lieutenant Promotional Process.

ELIGIBILITY LIST/ WRING STATUS
1 Police Officer— no vacancies. Twentv-seven names remain on the current
eligibility list scheduled to expire on August 1, 2010.
2 Firefighter— no vacancies. Thirty-six names remain on the current eligibility list
scheduled to expire on January 18; 2010.
3 Police Sergeant Eligibility List —Ten names appear on the current eligibility list
which will expire on February 4, 2012.
4 Fire Lieutenant List — Two names remain on the current eligibility list scheduled to
expire on June 24, 2009.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded Commissioner Kontek that the meeting
be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Shapiro
declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
