The Mayor made a presentation to the Commission in regards to the
Elgin-O'Hare — West Bypass North Connection. Detailed information was provided on
(DOT's final two locations for the West Bypass. The first Alternate was to convert the
Busse Road corridor and adjacent properties into a 6-lane expressway, thus splitting the I
Business Park into two halves. The second and preferred Alternate (203 — Option D)
involves building the expressway on the previously identified 300-foot corridor east of
Elmhurst Road on existing Airport property and building a full interchange at Elmhurst
Road and 1-90. The preferred alternate preserves the existing Business Park and
provides the most economic benefit to the community. The Mayor requested the
assistance from the Commissioner's to help support Alternate 203 — Option D by either
passing out and collecting comment cards or by attending the Public Information
Meeting #3 held at the Belvedere Banquet Facility in Elk Grove Village on March 11,
2009 at 5:30 PM.
