HomeMy WebLinkAboutVILLAGE BOARD - 04/28/2009 - BUDGET HEARING MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING HELD BEFORE THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES ON TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 2009 Mayor Craig B. Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Charles J. Zetttek Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village Illinois. Present: Trustees Nancy J. Czarmk, Patton L. Feichter, Jeffrey C. Franke, Samuel L. Lissner, James P. Petri, Chris Prochno Also Present: Village Manager Raymond R. Rummel Village Attorney George B. Knickerbocker Village Clerk Ann I. Walsh Mayor Johnson called the meeting to order and announced the purpose of the public hearing was to allow discussion on the proposed budget for the Village of Elk Grove Village fiscal year 2009/2010, which begins May 1, 2009. The Board reviewed all departmental budget requests and the Village Manager's recommendations at a public budget workshop held on Tuesday, March 17, 2009. Mayor Johnson called upon the Director of Finance, Christine Tromp, to discuss the recommended budget. It was noted the total proposed budget was approximately$85 million, which represented a decrease of S35 million dollars compared to the current year adjusted budget which was mostly due to the completion of the construction projects, including the Administration and Public Safety Complex. A copy of the full proceedings is on file in the Office of the Village Clerk. 6:55 p.m. Mayor Johnson called for comments or questions from the Village Board members and/or anyone in the audience. There being no response, Mayor Johnson adjourned the budget public hearing at 6:59 p.m. Respectfully Submitted: Ann I.
