MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING JUN 12 2009
OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE VILLAGE CLERK'S OFFICe
HELD ON MARCH 12, 2009
Chairman Shapiro called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building,
901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were
present: Chairman Alan J. Shapiro, DDS, and Secretary E. Butch Ehrke, and Commissioner
Michael P. Kontek.
It was moved by Commissioner Kontek and seconded by Commissioner Ehrke that the
minutes of February 10, 2009 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense
with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman
Shapiro declared the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
1. Daily Herald, Invoice T4135502 dated 2/17/2009 in the-amount of 523.00 for
publication of meeting change.
2. Office Depot, Invoice 461989338-001 dated 2/17/2009 in the amount of$62.71 for
office supplies.
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded by Commissioner Kontek that the Board
authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation
whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.
CORRESPONDENCE
1. Memo to Village Clerk advising that the Regular Meeting of the Fire &Police
Commission has been rescheduled from March 17, 2009 to March 12, 2009.
2. Notice of Suspension dated 2/27/2009 to Police Officer for violating Rules and
Regulations of the Elk Grove Village Police Department, Section 26.1.IA, Rule 46.
3. Memo from Chief Schmidt regarding the six-month performance evaluations for
Probationary Officers Callaghan and Jedlink.
4. Memo from Chief Schmidt regarding the performance of Probationary Officer
Mosqueda.
5. Memo from Chief Miller regarding the six-month performance of Probationary
Firefighters Titre, Hamilton and Foster.

NEW BUSINESS
1. None
ELIGIBILITY LIST/ HIRING STATUS
1 Police Officer—no vacancies. Twenty-seven names remain on the current
eligibility list scheduled to expire on August 1, 2010.
2 Firefighter—no vacancies. Thirty-six names remain on the current eligibility list
scheduled to expire on January 18, 2010.
3 Police Sergeant Eligibility List—Ten names appear on the current eligibility list
which will expire on February 4, 2012.
4 Fire Lieutenant List—Two names remain on the current eligibility list scheduled to
expire on June 24, 2009.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded Commissioner Kontek that the meeting
be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Shapiro
declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
