Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled
meeting of the Village President and Board of Trustees on March 13, 2007_this Executive Session
was called to consider a Personnel matter.

Personnel
The Village Manager informed the Mayor and Board that current Deputy Village Clerk
Margit Thompson would be retiring in May or June. In addition, it was noted that Village
Clerk Ann Walsh may be retiring in three years. As a result, the Village Manager was
requesting the creation of a temporary Deputy Village Clerk position.
One question raised during the discussion was the Village Manager's request for the position
to require residency. The request was made due to the training cost required for the Village
Clerk position. The Village Manager stated that it would be beneficial to have someone in
that position with residency as a potential replacement for the Village Clerk's position.
After a lengthy discussion, it was the consensus of the Board to remove the formal residency
requirement.
