Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting
of the Village President and Board of Trustees on August 21, 2007_this Executive Session was-called to
consider a Personnel matter.

The Village Manager updated the Board on applying for funding to hire 5 firefighters under a
Firefighter"Safer" grant. The Board discussed the impact the grant would have on staffing levels
in the Fire Department. Currently, the Fire Department is down 2 firefighters and 12 firefighters
are eligible to retire in the next year. The consensus of the Board was to move forward with the
application and continue research on staffing levels. The Village is not required to accept the grant
should it be approved.
