The Community Sexv.i.c.e Board voted not to meet .in December.

COORDINATOR"S REPORT -- November 1982
The RTA Survey of Village Grove.-residents has been.eompleted. A copy of the
report is attached.
Community Service in conjunction with Fire Department completed updated I
shelter profiles for the Civil Defense Plan. This information was forwarded j
to Illinois Emergency Services and Disaster Agency. Elk Grove is seen as
a potential sheltering community in the event of a problem at the Zion !i
Nuclear Power Plant.
Forty Thanksgiving baskets were collected and distributed to needy families
in Elk Grove. This was coordinated.with the Elk Grove Township Community
Day Care Center.
The program on health care and support services for non-English speaking
students at Elk Grove High School will be incorporated into the Coordination
- of Service program in 'April. This concern is also being addressed by the
Cook County Board of Education.
Recruitment of volunteers for the Salvation Army. Red Kettle Drive continues.
Any assistance that Board.-members can provide in this recruitment would be
very much appreciated.
A list of available services for seniors was -prepared- by Community Service
this month. This list will be made available to all inquiring .seniors and'
C agencies serving seniors in Elk Grove. Additionally, it will be handed out-
when seniors apply for the Village taxi cab program.
The library is planning a :.series of programs. on parenting teenagers during
the month of February. They will be held on the -first three Mondays of
February at 7:30 p.m. Community Service has assisted the library with the.
planning of these three programs. - The first program on "Parenting Teenagers -
Options and Alternatives" will be presented by Barbara Harris, The second
program on "Drug and Alcohol. .....- Use and Abuse" will feature speakers from
A.D.D. , Alexian Brothers Adolescent Alcoholism Treatment Program and Parents
Anonymous. The third program. on "Success in School: How Parents Can Help"-
will feature Principal' Steve Berry along with representatives from the Pupil
Personnel Services program .at Elk Grove High School.
