A. Senior Impact Study
The Board reviewed the proposal and were not satisfied with
its content. They would like the following points to be
addressed in the survey:
1. Impact of aging population on the community.
2. What aging population will need and the. ability of
this municipality to react to the needs of the elderly
in this community.
Areas to be covered: Housing, Health Care, Social
Services, Recreation, Nutrition and Transportation.
3. Focus on impact on services.
B. Proposed_ Rental Housing Ordinances
The ordinance was reviewed by the Board. The Board felt
it needed to be "cleaned up. " It will be presented at the
January, 1988 meeting for further review.
C. Low Cost Primary Medical Care Task Force Update
The current proposal will be presented to the Chicago
Community Trust for their review and funding. The Task.
Force will split up funding with 42% going to the seven
Northwest Townships and 58% to two townships and one town
for the south suburbs. Tentatively the project will be
funded at $2,000,000 for four years, giving them 1/2 million
per year.
Baxter Travenol has been approached for future funding. They
have expressed interest in making this committment for the
northwest suburbs. The project will have to find private
funding if it is to continue in the future, because they do
not plan on asking governmental agencies for total support.

II Routine Reports
A. Coordinator's Report
Immunization Clinic -
23 children were given 35 shots- at the November 17, 1987., clinic.
Because attendance is low during this time of year, the Health
Department will promote this program in the media.
Refuse Ordinance
The Board discussed the possibility of passing an ordinance
requiring screening around dumpsters in commercial areas.
Other Villages have this ordinance and it has created many
problems. The material used for screening has deteriorated
and creates a greater problem than the refuse containers.
The Health Department decided to treat each situation in-
dividually and only require food service facilities to have
their own dumpsters.
The Health Department will review the situation with other
Health Departments and determine if such an ordinance is
necessary. .
TB Testing -
A Mantoux Clinic (TB) will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 1987,
from 2 - 4 p.m. with checking being done on Friday, December 11th.

Dave Dopp attended the November 24, 1987, Village Board
meeting. He questioned the Board of Trustees about the
Village's Insurance plan options. He requested that the
Board of Health be consulted about selection of HMO's
in the future, since the Board of Health has some expertise in
this area. Dick Olsen will be invited to a Board of Health
meeting to discuss this subject.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:25 p.m.
