HomeMy WebLinkAboutBOARD OF HEALTH - 04/07/1987 - BOARD OF HEALTH Minutes Village of Elk Grove Board of Health April 7, 1987 The regular meeting of the Elk Grove Village Board of Health was called to order by Pat McHale, Chairman, at 7:45 p.m. in the Staff Conference Room of the Village Hall. Board Members Present Board Members Absent Pat McHale, Chairman Ken Deal Pat Bourke Ray Dean Ray DePalma Dr. Kelly Dave Dopp Jim Rubly Dr. Labinsky Staff Members Present Mike Cavallini Staff Members Absent Nancy Yiannias Minutes of the February 3, 1987, meeting were approved. I Old Business A. Low Cost Health Care Update The grant proposal submitted to the Chicago Community Trust was approved. An initial grant of $100,000 was approved for planning. A staff person will be hired to prepare the plan. Harper College will administer the funds for the first year. The plan must be completed by September 7, 1987, so the Task Force will request an implementation grant from Chicago Community Trust. The concept is very exciting and should fulfill a health need for the communities involved. B. Congregate Senior Housing Update JPZ has not discussed this issue in the last several months. A memo will be sent to JPZ to ask when they will be looking at their proposed ordinance. C. Task Force - Senior Impact Study No Report D. Proposed Tanning Booth Ordinance No response has been received regarding this proposed ordinance. E. Adult Day Care Ordinance No Report Board of Health Minuses - page 2 April 7, 1987 II Routine Reports A. Coordinator's Report - Mantoux Testing - 86 people were given Mantoux's (TB Screening) . Three were found positive and were referred to the Suburban TB Sanitarium District for followup. - Immunization Clinic - 63 children received 103 shots at the March 12th Immunization Clinic. The conference was presented by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Dr. Labinsky moved to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Pat Bourke.
