Board Members Present Board Members Absent Pat McHale, Chairman Ken Deal Pat Bourke Dr. Labinsky Ray DePalma Jim Rubly Ray Dean Dr. Kelly Staff Present Nancy Yiannias Mike Cavallini Guest Dave Dopp Dr. Kelly moved that the minutes of the June 3, 1986, meeting be approved. It was seconded and passed unanimously. I Old Business A. Low Cost Health Care Update Pat McHale, Pat Bourke and several others went to Springfield. to .discuss the problem of the need for low cost primary health care in the Northwest Suburbs with staff from the Illinois Departments of Public Health and Public Aid. The meeting .was set up by Kay Wojik and Terry Park. The Departments recognized that there is a problem and will contact Health Systems Agency and Cook_ County Department of Public Health regarding this problem. A taskforce will be established to look into this problem and draft a proposal to study and identify the magnitude of this problem. B. Proposed Congregate Senior .Housing. Ordinance Update J.P.Z. is meeting on Monday, July 7, 1986, to discuss the proposed licensing ordinance. All Board of Health members are invited to attend. C. Taskforce for Community Impact Study of Senior Citizen Population Update A sample letter was reviewed by the .Board of Health which will be sent to those to be invited to the Taskforce meeting. The Board of Health decided to wait until the Congregate Senior Housing Ordinance was in place before calling the Taskforce together. D. Proposed Tanning Booth Ordinance The Village Manager has not yet responded to the Board of Health regarding the Tanning Booth Ordinance. Letter from Harriet Dalaskey re Organ Donations Pat McHale read a letter sent to her from Harriet Dalaskey. Mrs. Dalaskey would like to initiate a community education program on organ donations. She would like the support of the Elk Grove Village Board of Health. Pat Bourke moved that the Board of Health support the concept of educating the community regarding appropriate mechanisims already in place to provide for organ donations. The motion was seconded by Dr. Kelly. The motion was unanimously approved.
