Board of Health
June 3, 1986
The regular meeting of the Elk Grove Village Board of Health
was called to order at 7:40 p.m. by. Pat McHale, Chairman.

Dr. Kelly moved that the Minutes of the tday 6, 1986, meeting be
approved. It was seconded by Ray Dean. Approval was unanimous.
I Old Business
A. Community Impact Study Update
Taskforce - Senior Population Study
A date. has not yet been set for a taskforce meeting.
Pat McHale said to plan. a meeting around July 1st.
B. . Licensing.Ordinance forfCongregate Senior Housing
JPZ met with- Board of Health representatives and some
staff to- discuss the -proposed- draft ordinance. After
reviewing the draft., JPZ directed staff to make some
minor changes and meet with them again for a final
review of-the proposed ordinance.
C:. Low Cost -Health Care Update
A meeting with the Departments of Public Health. and Public
Aid will be held on June. 19, 1986, in Springfield. North
west Suburban Health Departments and Townships will be
represented at this meeting. The topic of discussion will
be the need for low cost primary medical care in the north-
west suburbs.
D. Proposed Tanning Booth Ordinance
Further information was forwarded to .Mr. Willis on the
proposed tanning booth ordinance. Hopefully he will recon-
sider the proposed adoption of the ordinance after reading
-the more current information- on the subject.

A. Coordinator's Report
The next two Immunization Clinics have been changed to
August 7th and October 9th to better correspond with
the school's exclusion date deadline.
Sixty--one children were given 118 shots. This was a heavy
clinic compared to the one held in March.
Mantoux testing will -be done on June 19th .and readings
taken on June 13th. Food Service and Day Care Facilities
have been notified of the Clinic.

requests made by the Health Department on maintenance.
We are pleased they have been so cooperative.
B. Sanitarian's Report
Three newly renovated restaurants are opening: Renaissance,
Fat Boys and Unique Cuisine.

Radon information-was passed. out by Mike Cavallini. Since there has
been a great deal of news on the media about Radon, the Board of
Health felt .that information on Radon as' it relates to the Village
should be put in the- Village Newsletter. This will be pursued
by staff.
Ray. Dean moved that the meeting be adjourned. Ken Deal seconded
the motion. The-meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
