Senior Citizen Community Impact Study The Board of Health has been charged by the Board of Trustees to coordinate a Senior Citizen Community Impact Study. Several agencies will be involved in the study (the Village of Schaumburg, the Village of Elk Grove, Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Elk Grove/Schaumburg Mental Health Center, Elk Grove & Schaumburg Townships, Roselle and DuPage County) . Some of the above have already made a verbal committment to the study. Pat Bourke said that the Alexian Corporate Office is compiling demographic data on seniors. Perhaps they could be invited to the next Board of Health meeting along with Evan Polansky to discuss this material. Perhaps Health Systems Agency has some information on seniors that may be useful. Pat McHale said the Board needs to have a conceptual idea of how we should start on this study and what information we need to collect. She will speak with Dr. Leonard Heumann, of the University of Illinois, about the kind of information needed for such a study. Dave Dopp spent the day at Libertyville Towers, a senior congregate facility. He thought perhaps Lake County Health Department may have some information on its effect on their Health Department. A-1-1-facets will be explored_ -before--the agencies- wil.1 be called together for their input. The meeting was adjourned at 9:55 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Nancy Yiannias Health Coordinator NY/jc Distribution: Board of Health Members Village- President.
