1. Day Care Ordinance
JPZ reviewed the revised version of the Day Care'
-Ordinance. Several changes were made- in-the code... It
was reviewed by JPZ- and given to the attorney for the
next draft..
2.. Commercial Maintenance Code
JPZ did- not have time to review this ordinance or the
drainage ditch ordinance.
3.. Low Cost Medical Care in Suburbs
Pat McHale said that United Way has funding for new
programs but this would not qualify. Such a program
would require a sponsor (such as Alexian Brothers
Medical Center). There is a definite need for low cost
medical care and a -sponsor should be actively sought.

C. New Business
The Board discussed the possibility of having strati.gic-
-planning sessions through Harper: Schaumburg's. Board of
Health and Health Department had such sessions and found them .
to be very effective.
Some of the Board, members (EGV) felt they needed more information
on the function of Health Departments and Public Health before
such a planning session is held.
Dr. Labinsky moved that the Board of Health have a presentation
giving them the functions of the Board of Health in order to
enhance their performance as Board Members. They want this
preceeded by an educational presentation which will give them
information on "whose responsibility it is to service and' .
resolve various health problems". Discussion followed. The
motion was tabled to the next meeting.
The Health Department will prepare and present a report on the
Health.Department and local counterparts and their functions
in the area of Public Health. Also included will be information
on other health agencies and what -their functions are and how
