Health.Impaired Elderly Update - Pat McHale brought a printout on Schaumburg's Health Department Nursing Activities. Between January thru March, 1985, the following figures were given: new patients - 118 counseling therapy visits - 1,000 aid visits - 1;585 These are the most significant data given in the printout. Schaumburg demographics are very -similar to Elk Grove Village as well as other northwest suburban communities. Health needs should be nearly identical. In Schaumburg these needs were not visible until the services were available. Nursing services are given only to those that cannot be referred to other agencies. The age level is also increasing, so need for services will also increase. Pat McHale sent a questionnaire to Human. Services Agencies that had Schaumburg as their service area. The focus of this survey was to determine if these agencies felt there was a need for nursing and related services in the community. The Elk Grove Village Board of Health felt that it would be helpful to develop a questionnaire, (something like Schaumburgs) and distribute it to service providers in the Elk Grove area. This would be helpful in our efforts to determine if there is a need for such a service. 2.
