Dave Dopp brought a report on the 1980 census information for seniors over 65. Poverty level in this age group is extremely low (approximately $3,479) . Pat McHale said she was most concerned with those seniors that have a income of $600 or $800 monthly. Their income must not cover their expenses but they are not eligible for any public funding. Neither sources (the Census or Area Agency on Aging) have the information we are looking for. It was suggested that we contact HICFA (Health Care Financing Administration) .and request a mailing list for persons 65 and older so we could do a direct mailing. We could do a small survey ourselves and probably get better information. . B. Alternative Education Program 1.
