A. Health Impaired Elderly Search
Pat IkHale and Nancy Yiannias will be meeting with Alexian
Brothers Medical Center Home Care later in the week and will
.report on that meeting in March.
Dave Dopp brought a report on the 1980 census information
for seniors over 65. Poverty level in this age group is
extremely low (approximately $3,479) . Pat McHale said
she was most concerned with those seniors that have a income
of $600 or $800 monthly. Their income must not cover their
expenses but they are not eligible for any public funding.
Neither sources (the Census or Area Agency on Aging) have
the information we are looking for. It was suggested that we
contact HICFA (Health Care Financing Administration) .and
request a mailing list for persons 65 and older so we could
do a direct mailing. We could do a small survey ourselves
and probably get better information. .
B. Alternative Education Program
1. Parent letter - funds for this educational flier have been
put in the Health Department Budget for the next fiscal
year.
2. Task Force Meeting -
Another meeting has not been set. Pat McHale and Nancy
Yiannias will be meeting with'the Plus Advisory Council
and Community Services, to see if they have any input,
. before any action is taken.

C. 1353 Cumberland Circle East
No renovation has taken place in the past few months. A
hearing will be held in March. The Board of Health wondered
if the Village could not demand demolition of the home. This
will be run past the attorney for his opinion.
D. Commercial Building Maintenance Code
The code will be presented at the next Board of Health meeting
for review.
E. Living Will and Organ Donation
The attorney did not feel that promotion of this document' was
appropriate for the Village to do. One clergyman was approached
but was not interested in promoting it either.
F. Day Care Center Ordinance
The State of Illinois regulations for Day Care Centers was
reviewed by the Board of Health. Proposed enforcement regulations
written by the Village of Schaumburg were also reviewed. A list
of changes made by the Health Department were looked at by the
Board. After reviewing the three sections of the .proposed
ordinance, the Board passed it unanimously. The ordinance will
be put in draft form to be reviewed by JP'L.
