BOARD OF HEALTH
September 12, 1972
Members Present: Brother Ferdinand Leyya, CFA, Chairman; -Mr. Alan Antonik-,
Mrs. Donna Farley; Mrs. Trudy Brock, Secretary.
Others Present: Mrs. Barbara Watson, Health Inspector; Mr. Fred Gaca,
Reporter, Herald.

The survey is now ready to 'go to the printer. It may be ready for
presentation by October.
Flooding - Board of Health goes on record as wishing to help- in
implementing flood plain- control in this area.
Mr. John Schultz of the County and-Mrs. Watson took water samples
on the Monday (August 28th) following the flood (August 25th) . The
results are not in yet. .
Brother Ferdinand and Mr. Antonik suggested the Board of Health
might think of drawing up a list of warnings for flood situations --
such as, staying out of a crawl space with water in it; care of freezers
and refrigerators, -etc. ; children in flood water; water supplies: candles,
battery powered radio; watching brakes on cars.
Health Fair - Mr. Antonik mentioned that Schaumburg has one every
year. Rolling Meadows is having one now. Should Elk Grove Village have
one? Where? High School ?
Food Handlers' Program - October 3rd and 10th: Mrs. Watson has
all the films, filmstrips and projector lined up. Mr. Schultz and Mr. .
Brock will be the speakers. I
Mrs. Watson has received numerous weed complaints. Also complaints
about mosquitoes.
