Donna Farley, Dr. Harold Labinsky, Dr. Ronald Schmutzer. . Others Present: Mrs. Pat Bourke, Chm. , Personal Health Committee; Mr. Fred Gaca, Reporter, Herald; Dr. John Hall , Cook County Health Department; Mr. Jack Pahl , former Village President; Mrs. Marge Schwellenbach, Secretary; Mr. Stephen Skorcz, Consultant, Assistant Administrator at Alexian Brothers Medical Center; Mrs.. Barbara Watson, Health Inspector. Brother Ferdinand called the meeting to order at 8: 15 a.m. in the Staff Conference Room of the Municipal Building. He gave a brief introductory speech on the nearly completed Comprehensive Health Survey. He then asked Mrs. Farley and Miirs. Bourke to give a presentation on their portion of the Comprehensive Health Survey. 1 . Presentation of Health Survey Mrs. Farley, Chairman of the Environmental Health Survey Committee, gave a summarization of the Environmerita•1 Health Survey and explained the implementa- tion recommendations pertaining thereto. Mrs. Bourke, Chairman of the Personal Health Survey Committee, gave a summari - zation of the Personal Health Survey and explained the implementation recom- mendations pertaining thereto. 2. Response to Heaith .Survey Mr. Pahl commended Mrs. Farley and Mrs. Bourke on a job well done. Mr. Pahl is convinced local government will receive revenue sharing (approximately $440,000 a year) which will be retroactive to July 1 , 1972. Dr. Hall also commended Mrs. Farley and M'rs. Bourke on the fine piece of material presented to the Board of Health. Dr. Hall suggested that (1 ) a policy-making agency be set up to handle the needs set forth in the Health Survey, (2) deter- mine how the Health Survey directly affects the various areas of Elk Grove Village, and (3) ascertain the total number of short range rules and the total number of long range rules contained in the Health Survey and set priorities as soon as possible. Mr'. Skorcz cautioned the Board to observe the gaps in the Health Survey and begin utilizing the expertise of the many people who have been gathering the data for the Health Survey. Brother Ferdinand, Mr. Antonik, Dr. Labinsky and Dr. Schmutzer also commended the work, time and effort expended by Mrs . Farley and Mrs. Bourke. i 3. Distribution of Copies of Survey - Budget Consideration and 4. Plan for Presentation to Board of Trustees - Date and Time Mrs. Farley recommended that the Comprehensive Health Survey be finalized before bringing it to the Board of Trustees . Their 'bu.dget, showing money spent and money needed, will also be presented at that time. A tentative date for the presentation to the Board of Trustees was set for early September. Mrs. Bourke recommended that the final product be enclosed in a hard cover with a plastic coil binding, using plastic plates for the printing to offset the cost. It was recommended that 100. copies of the Comprehensive Health Survey be printed. A fee of approximately $5.00 will be charged for anyone requesting a copy of same. However, a free copy will be furnished to al..l those who assisted in the Health Survey. At present, there are only twelve copies, all of which have been distributed. 5. Other Business Mrs. Watson will be going on vacation from July 22nd to August 5th. Any calls, etc. , are to be referred to Mr. Don Shindler, R.S. , Rolli.ng Meadows - telephone 394-8500, extension 21 . Mr. .Gaca, Reporter from the Herald,. requested that. a copy of the completed Comprehensive Health Survey be sent to Paddock Publications.
