HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE & POLICE COMMISSION - 09/15/2009 - FIRE & POLICE COMMISSION c: Village Clerk MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE HELD ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2009 Chairman Shapiro called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Alan J. Shapiro, DDS, and Secretary E. Butch Ehrke, and Commissioner Michael P. Kontek. It was moved by Commissioner Kontek and seconded by Commissioner Ehrke that the minutes of August 18, 2009 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Shapiro declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES 1. Office Depot Invoice#484635843001 dated 08/14/2009 in the amount of$13.53 for office supplies. CORRESPONDENCE 1. Written Reprimand dated 8/20/09 to Police Officer for violating Rules and Regulations of the Elk Grove Village Police Department, Section 26.1.1A, Failure to Perform A Duty, Rule 09 (Inattention to Duty). 2. Memo to Chief Miller requesting comments/constructive criticism regarding the performance of Probationary Firefighters Titre, Hamilton and Foster. 3. Memo to Chief Schmidt requesting comments/constructive criticism regarding the performance of Probationary Police Officers Callaghan and Jedlink. 4. Memo from Chief Schmidt regarding the performance of Probationary Police Officers Callaghan and Jedlink, along with his recommendation that both be granted permanent employee status. 5. Memo from Chief Miller regarding the performance of Probationary Firefighters Titre, Hamilton and Foster, along with his recommendation that all three be granted permanent employee status. OLD BUSINESS 1. Discuss CPAT and Paramedic Survey Results with Chief Miller—Chief Miller still has not reviewed survey with Village Manager and therefore could not share the results with the Commission. Minutes of the Regular Meeting September 15,2009 Pagel of 2 NEW BUSINESS 1. None ELIGIBILITY LIST/HIRING STATUS 1. Police Officer—two vacancies on hold at this time. Twenty-seven names remain on the current eligibility list scheduled to expire on August 1, 2010. 2. Firefighter—no vacancies. Thirty-six names remain on the current eligibility list scheduled to expire on January 18,2010. 3. Police Sergeant Eligibility List—Ten names appear on the new eligibility list which will expire on February 4, 2012. 4. Fire Lieutenant List—Eligibility list expired on June 24, 2009. ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded Commissioner Kontek that the meeting be adjourned.
