HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE & POLICE COMMISSION - 11/17/2009 - FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSION c: Village Clerk RECEIVED DEC 1-12009 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COM IISSIONERWILLAGE CLERK'S OFFICE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE HELD ON NOVEMBER 17, 2009 Chairman Shapiro called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following members were present: Chairman Alan J. Shapiro, DDS, and Secretary E. Butch Ehrke, and Commissioner Michael P. Kontek. Guest Present: Attorney John Kelly. It was moved by Commissioner Kontek and seconded by Commissioner Ehrke that the minutes of October 20, 2009 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Shapiro declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES 1. None CORRESPONDENCE 1. Notice of Suspension dated 10/26/09 to Police Officer for violating Rules and Regulations of the Elk Grove Village Police Department, Section 26.1.1 A, Rules of Conduct, Rule 01 (Violation of any law, ordinance or department general order, and Rule 04 (Any conduct or action taken to use the official position for personal gain or influence). OLD BUSINESS 1. Discussed Schedule for Remaining Components in the Fire Lieutenant Promotional Process: > Chiefs points in progress > Assessment Center December 7h and 8a' > Written Exam December 10th NEW BUSINESS 1. Annual Meeting with Attorney John Kelly. Discussed recent and upcoming changes to the Illinois Compiled Statutes. Minutes of the Regular Meeting November 17,2009 Pagel of 2 ELIGIBILITY LIST/HIlUNG STATUS 1. Police Officer—two vacancies on hold at this time. Twenty-seven names remain on the current eligibility list scheduled to expire on August 1, 2010. 2. Firefighter—no vacancies. Thirty-six names remain on the current eligibility list scheduled to expire on January 18, 2010. 3. Police Sergeant Eligibility List—Ten names appear on the new eligibility list which will expire on February 4, 2012. 4. Fire Lieutenant List—Eligibility list expired on June 24, 2009. ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded Commissioner Kontek that the meeting be adjourned.
