HomeMy WebLinkAboutPLAN COMMISSION - 08/06/1980 - GULLO PLAT OF SUB/NID OF LUTHERAN CHURCH Minutes Elk Grove Village Plan Commission Wednesday, August 6, 1980 The regular meeting of the Plan Commission was called to order at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 1980 in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue. MEMBERS PRESENT: Cummins, Leah, Secretary Glass, John R. Mullen, George E. Stangeland, Orrin J. MEMBERS ABSENT: Kenna, Edward W. , Chairman Geinosky, Frederick C. Paliganoff, David J. STAFF PRESENT: Stephen M. Feller, Administrative Assistant Thomas J. lappa, Administrative Intern Acting Chairman and Acting Secretary Stangeland made a motion that Cummins be designated as Acting Chairman and that Mullen be designated as Acting Secretary. Glass seconded the motion. All present voted 'AYE' . Gullo Plat of Subdivision Glass moved to approve a five-lot subdivision, consisting of 2.82 acres, located on the east side of Stanley Street. Stangeland seconded the motion and all present voted 'AYE' . Docket 80-5: Northern Illinois District of Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) petition for a Special Use Permit to construct a church at the southeast corner of West Glenn Trail and Biesterfield Road John Holland, Architect, was present to represent the petitioners. Holland explained that he was present to respond to the Plan Commission's recommendation that the President and Board of Trustees approve the use of modular units as a temporary church structure for a period of two years, subject to the petitioners submitting an acceptable plan which shows the exact location of the structures and landscaping on the site. Holland reported that he had revised the site plan to incorporate the dimensions and landscaping requested by the Plan Commission. Stangeland asked if the landscaping would be preserved after the modular structures were replaced with a permanent church building. Holland answered that the intention would be to relocate the landscaping. Glass inquired about the screening for single family homes in the area. Holland responded that the existing shrubbery and fences would provide adequate screening. Holland replied that low garden lights would be installed along the walkway leading to West Glenn Trail. Mullen moved to recommend approval of the revised site plan. Glass seconded the motion and all present voted 'AYE' . Landscaping Plan: Southwest Corner of Meacham and Biesterfield Roads Glass moved to approve the landscaping plan for the Shawr+,way Shopping Center, subject to the removal of large boulders in front of the building. Mullen seconded the motion and all present voted 'AYE' . The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m. Submitted by: Thomas J.
