Home My WebLink AboutRESOLUTION - 29-17 - 5/10/2017 - April 4, 2017 Canvass Election Results RESOLUTION NO. 29-17 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RESULTS OF THE CANVASS CONDUCTED BY THE CANVASSING BOARD OF THE COOK COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE OF THE VOTES OF THE CONSOLIDATED ELECTION FOR VILLAGE OFFICIALS HELD ON TUESDAY,APRIL 4, 2017 AND PROCLAIMING THE RESULTS WHEREAS, a Consolidated Election was held in and for the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois, on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 for the purpose of electing one (1) Mayor for a four(4)year term; three (3) Village Trustees - each for a four (4) year term; three (3) Library Trustees - each for a six (6)year term; one (1) Library Trustee—for a four(4) year term; and WHEREAS,the Cook County Clerk canvassed the results of the election and as required by Statute transmitted the following totals to the Village Clerk. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage Counties, Illinois, as follows: Section 1: That said election was duly held as provided by law. Section 2: That a total of 2,016 ballots were cast in the following manner: For the Office of Mayor: Craig B. Johnson 1,700 For the Office of Village Trustee: Christine K. Prochno 1,658 Pat Feichter 1,596 Jeffrey C. Franke 1,589 For the Office of the Library Board of Trustees (six (6)year term): Gilbert Schumm 1,574 James J. Colgan 1,551 T. R. Johnson 1,528 For the Office of the Library Board of Trustees (four(4)year term): Lee J. Maternowski 1,260 Wissam"Sam" Jameel 499 Section 3: That the Proclamation of the Canvassing Board is hereby accepted in total. Section 4: That Craig B. Johnson received the highest number of votes for the Office of Mayor and is hereby declared elected to the Office of Mayor of the Village of Elk Grove Village for a term of four (4)years. Section 5: That Christine K. Prochno, Pat Feichter, and Jeffrey C. Franke received the highest number of votes for the Office of Village Trustee and they are hereby declared elected to the Office of Village Trustee of the Village of Elk Grove Village for a term of four (4) years. Section 6: That Gilbert Schumm, James J. Colgan, and T. R. Johnson received the highest number of votes for the Office of Library Board of Trustees and they are hereby declared elected to the Office of Library Trustee of the Village of Elk Grove Village for a term of six (6)years. Section 7: That Lee J. Maternowski received the highest number of votes for the Office of Library Board of Trustee and is hereby declared elected to the Office of Library Trustee of the Village of Elk Grove Village for a term of four(4)years. Section 8: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law. VOTE: AYES: 6 NAYS: 0 ABSENT: 0 PASSED this 9th day of May 2017.
